We suffered a devastating loss yesterday. When we took Marvel in, we never knew he would be the epitome of what "Heaven After Hell" stood for. He had literally been through the worst, fought, beaten, and literally thrown out like trash. For 2 1/2 years, we fought for him, so he didn't have to fight anymore. We nursed him back and worked on his issues. We fought to find his forever home, not knowing, we were it, all along.
Monday night, Marvel went to the ER for extreme vomiting and he was sent home with medication and hopes that whatever might be causing this would pass. Tuesday morning, he still wasn't better, so we went back to the vet. After some testing, the vet found that he had a blockage and was worried it was going to be too close to his pancreas. She opened him up and the worst case scenario became our reality. The surgeon we would have been referred to, didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery due to the damage that had already been done.
Marvel crossed the bridge yesterday and he took so many hearts with him. He never met a stranger. He greeted the world with butt wiggles and antics to get butt rubs. He was Heaven After Hell Rescue. We are all better people because of him and I am so glad our rescue family ensured he knew he was loved, every day that we were blessed to spend with him.
Please keep our group in your thoughts and prayers. RIH angel! You will be missed incredibly.
