Donna at Haute Culture  Curator of Fashionable Adventures Around The World ๐ŸŽŽ NEXT TOUR: Hill Tribe Textile Tour of Vietnam Sept 2018 goes on sale October 30th. Sign up here

Well yesterday was a mega successful day as we revisited the Ha Nhi village to connect with artisans and develop projects for our textile tour of Vietnam.
Tho Choo and I spent the day discussing their traditional clothes, techniques and ideas for how best to educate others about Ha Nhi culture.
We learned about the gorgeous children's hats, special ceremonial garments, motifs and even made a new bracelets together which we all loved.
Outside rice season the ladies have seldom supplementary income and have very little to do. We discussed how we might extend the project to employ some local women in their free time to make jewelry which I can sell on hauteculturefashion.com and beyond.
Tell Me: What do you think about Ha Nhi textiles and the bracelet we made in the comments below ๐Ÿ˜˜

A stunning shot of our embroidery teacher Tamay from @tamayandme taken by my new best friends Megan and Gab at @walksewgood , who are walking, YES WALKING across south east Asia to document and share stories about ethical and sustainable fashion. I left Hanoi, my home and my teaching career behind only 4 days ago and since then it has been the most inspiring and empowering few days preparing for our hill tribe textile tour of Vietnam and hanging out with some seriously rad #girlbosses . Be sure to follow @hauteculturefashion over on Facebook for daily updates and insights into how we plan our tours!

Wow it's so amazing looking back through the photos from the last time I was in Thailand. Meeting the Tai Yar people was a huge turning point for my creativity, as soon as a met them and heard their story I knew I wanted to try a new approach to my work. That's when I made my first mini documentary style film. I absolutely loved the process as I wrote the script, shot and edited the film myself in just 48 hours. It was so exciting. I'm really looking forward to making more film like this in the coming year. You can watch the Tai Yar film on our Facebook and YouTube Channel. In other news our Hill Tribe Textile Tour of Thailand in January is now on sale to the general public via the website. We have just 1 place left after a hugely successful 1 week launch to our email subscribers. Link in the bio. Kapunka ๐Ÿ™
