Still dreaming of that insanely decadent bite of food at @saltiegirl yesterday. 😍 Sea Urchin with Quail Egg Yolk, Green Onion, Rice, and Caviar.

Headed out of town again and trying to use whatever fresh ingredients are going to be spoiled by the time I get back. I love how the beautiful colors of the red pepper and spinach look after being sauteed together. And... you can literally put an egg on almost anything and it'll not only be 'gram worthy but also tasty as hell. 🍳 // #homecooking

Treated to some #homecooking for dinner tonight by a good friend who is in town visiting. She is doing the #Whole30 diet which is pretty intense. But wow this dinner was.... amazing. // Grilled Pork Chops and Peaches over Arugula and Basil with a side of Shitake Mushrooms and Sauteed Red Onions. I don't have the recipe. So this afternoon I wanted to repurpose leftovers from last night's dinner. I was a bit stuck so I grabbed inspiration from a @tastemade recipe I found on @pinterest. This dish is sooooo delicious. Randomly found the @epicurious recipe while perusing @pinterest and it sounded pretty simple for a weeknight meal. If I had been more focused it would have been under 30min but I was a bit distracted. Watch my IG story for the how-to. πŸŽ₯ // #homecooking

Gorgeous vegetarian lunch spread prepared by my friends! I'm learning so much about expanding my normally carnivore-centric repertoire. This includes two dishes from @greenchef - mango BBQ tofu and summer squash gratin. We rounded out the meal with sides of a kale salad and corn medley. // #homecooking

Out of town for the holiday and my friend brought along their @greenchef meals. This one is a Purple Power Bowl and has red kale, blueberries, black rice, jicama, and feta. Not only is it vegetarian and gluten-free but it is insanely flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The directions were super easy to follow and the recipe card served as great inspiration for plating. Give it a try! I found it inspiring to expand my recipe knowledge since I rarely eat vegetarian! πŸ˜‹ // #homecooking

Feeling a little indulgent this morning so I took the opportunity to answer @charlyhillman question and do a how-to video on sausage gravy. It's really all about feel and there's no precise amount of flour and milk to add. Play with it a bit until the gravy is the consistency that you like it. Growing a little lemon tree inside my apartment. Do you have a home garden? If so, what are you having luck growing? Also, I didn't realize that lemon trees have flowers! That was a pleasant surprise. :) πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ‹

Not only does @fishcheeksnyc have a $1 oyster happy hour but their nam jim and fried garlic makes me never want to go anywhere but here for happy hour ever again. I tried to ask what's in the nam jim but the bartendar was a bit coy about giving me the details on the recipe! I am determined to recreate this sauce.

I often look to cut corners where I can save time when doing #homecooking. But I have to say that taking the extra time to make a homemade red sauce is so much more worth it than buying a ready made jar. Did you know that sauce can be frozen up to 3 months before it loses its quality and taste? πŸ˜‹πŸ
