This is a photo of the 369th infantry regiment in WW1. One of the toughest units in WW1. My grandfather, like these men fought in this war and when they returned home were still denied equal rights under the law. In fact captured soldiers were treated with more respect than my grandfather. It still took 54 more years to not have to ride on the back of the bus. I believe, the ultimate disrespect of the flag is fighting for your country and still not being granted equal rights. Let's be clear, taking a knee during the national anthem is a statement, a protest, a fight for a MORE PERFECT UNION. It is never about disrespect of this country. This country, that millions of Americans have fought and died for. My 2 cent.
