THE HANGING TEMPLE (懸空寺) Hunyuan County, Shanxi province, China.
_________________________________________
The Hanging temple is built into a cliff (75 m/246 ft above the ground) near Mount Heng, 64.23 kilometers to the northwest. Along with the Yungang Grottoes, the Hanging Temple is one of the main tourist attractions and historical sites in the Datong area. Built more than 1,500 years ago, this temple is notable not only for its location on a sheer precipice but also because it is the only existing temple with the combination of three Chinese traditional religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The structure is kept in place with oak crossbeams fitted into holes chiseled into the cliffs. The main supportive structure is hidden inside the bedrock. The monastery is located in the small canyon basin, and the body of the building hangs from the middle of the cliff under the prominent summit, protecting the temple from rain erosion and sunlight. On December 2010, it was listed in the “Time” magazine as the world's top ten most odd dangerous buildings.

HORSE HEAD ROCK, Bermagui, NSW, Australia
_________________________________________
The Australian coastline is full of stunningly beautiful locations to shoot seascapes.

Horse head rock has been Number 1 on my Bucket List of images to shoot in Australia for many years. There were quite a few obstacles in obtaining this capture, as access to this remote part of the headland is subject to the oceans tides. There are only a handful of times you can shoot here safely each month.

Located approx. 20 mins north of the beautiful town of Bermagui on the NSW South Coast, this area has many large stone features, you will feel as though you are walking through an ancient land. Everywhere you look there are dramatic rocks to photograph.

Waking up before sunrise, we walked along rugged shelves for 20 minutes from a well known Camel rock, to be greeted by a red glow of the burning sky. There stand awesome and gallantly, the incredible, astonishing and unbelieveable Horse Head Rock! This rocky horse really blew my mind and took my breath away! Made me hair-raising, speechless and my jaw dropped on the sea sands!!

QUEENSCLIFF TUNNEL , Manly Beach, NSW, Australia
_________________________________________
The Queenscliff Tunnel was constructed in 1908 by local fishermen as a shortcut through from Manly to Freshwater beach to the north. The cliffs are layers of striated, eroded rock, complex in shape, as unique as a thumbprint. Now the path to Freshwater has been blocked by rock falls, though it is still possible to clamber across them and make it to the beach.

BOMBO QUARRY, Kiama, NSW, Australia
_________________________________________
The Bombo Quarry site is an impressive and fascinating place where the remains of ancient columnar jointing provides us with Aussie version of the Irish Giant's Causeway. The site also enables visitors to see examples of weathered out dykes, volcanic breccias, the contact between the Kiama Sandstone Member and the overlying porphyritic basalt (known as the Bombo Latite Member). These features adjacent to the Tasman Sea present some amazing photographic possibilities

The Bombo Headland Quarry is of one of the most significant geological sites in New South Wales. The rock type and its formation features have technical significance at a national level. The Bombo Latite Member is also of international scientific significance as it was formed when North and South Magnetic Poles were reversed, which is important for intercontinental paleomagnetic correlation of Late Palaeozoic rock sequences.
