This view is an awesome ROI. It’ll look this way forever thanks to the Open Lands Program. That’s why we’re taking the long view and voting FOR Open Lands in June 5th.

Curious about the types of projects Gallatin County's Open Lands Program funds?
Here's an example: One of the oldest homesteads in Gallatin County, Thirteen Mile Farm, was settled by John Reese in the 1860s. Today, Becky Weed & Dave Tyler call these 160-acres home and operate Thirteen Mile Lamb & Wool Company. They raise organic lamb for meat and produce predator-friendly wool and wool products.
In 2001, Thirteen Mile was the first recipient of funds from the Open Lands program. They used money from the program to set up a conservation easement--forever protecting agriculture history and productivity, while providing habitat for wildlife, specifically elk herds, that migrate off the Bridgers into the valley.
We visited Thirteen Mile today. We think we got a great return on our investment. #takethelongview #foropenlands 📷: @pdowd13
