This sweater has multiple stories. I purchased a sweater in New York City one day while shopping for clothes in the garment district. It came with a matching hat.
I saw a lot of different sweaters being used that day in New York City as I walked around as a Tourist on vacation. Every person gave me the vibe of being behind the scenes of a fashion shoot. It was strange how many cool personalities had so many different styles within their demeanor. I wanted to photograph each and every single person I saw wearing the Orange Sweater that I just purchased. Felt strange that I felt that way while I still had the Sweater in my shopping bag.
I lived in New Jersey at the time before 911. After 911 I moved to New Orleans to start a new life with my wife. We lived together there for four years. Then Hurricane Katrina destroyed the house we lived in. We evacuated two days before she hit to a town name Mckinney Texas. Mckinney is 30 minutes north of Dallas Texas.
To make a long story short. I have been a photographer since 1984. When we started getting back on our feet in Texas. I started to want to learn all the digital side of the photography world. I took some studio classes with wireless photography gear.
Some how I still had my Orange Sweater after two American disasters. I really had a deep feeling of wanting to capture different faces with their amazing expressions and or movements in my Orange Sweater. I decided to start looking for people with faces that were striking to me combined with good home some personality with a love for art and fashion. It was difficult to interview models/people. I ended up with these images taken in a studio and some out doors. I am not done with this project not for a long time. I want to continue to find people who inspire me and have a soul that is married to the feelings that is produced from art.
Hope you enjoy this piece of work.
