As I sit here at a coffee shop in New Jersey, a state in which you can 🍻drink yourself stupid, and 🚬smoke brown plants (cigars + cigarette's) to your heart's content, yet the possession of even a minute amount of the green plant is a 6 month incarceration and $1,000 fine🤔
.
Where I'm from, you can buy the same green plant LEGALLY over the counter, and consume like a responsible adult at your leisure.
.
What the flying fuck??

Now, putting aside the legality issues (hey guess what, weed was made illegal because "it causes black men to sleep with white women". Yeah. What the fuck.) let's lay to rest some of the LIES you're STILL being told!
.
1) Weed makes you lazy and unproductive.
.
❌This is simply so untrue that it almost offends me. If you're a lazy person, then weed will be an easy crutch that allows you to feel good while doing nothing. If you're an adventurous, driven person, it can let you enjoy the little moments way more, keep undue stress at bay, and usher in a new perspective in problem solving situations.
.
2) Weed causes gynecomastia (man boobs).
.
❌Let's start by simply laying this out in the open: HORMONE IMBALANCES CAUSE GYNECOMASTIA. The most common causes for this are:
A) ALCOHOL.
B) Malnutrition
C) Anti-androgens used to treat prostate conditions.
D) Anti-anxiety medications, such as diazepam (Valium).
E) Tricyclic antidepressants.
F) Antibiotics.
.
3) It causes diet-ruining "munchies"
.
❌THC (one of the cannabinoids found in marijuana) stimulates appetite by regulating a group of neurons that normally suppress the appetite. Simply put, an appetite is an appetite, and what you choose to put in your mouth is your choice. Period. While weed might make cookies taste more amazing, it also makes getting your veggies in a lot more fun😎
.
Now, I'm not in any way advocating that you start, or increase your consumption of cannibas. Let that be clear!
.
I do however want to call attention to the RIDICULOUS notion that a plant that has PROVEN medicinal qualities should be illegal.
.

People drastically overestimate the ammount of WORK they're going to need to do, while underestimating the COMMITMENT level they will need in order to achieve their goals.
.
When it comes down to losing weight, almost EVERY person believes that it will come down to giving up their favorite foods, feeling hungry all the time, doing cardio until their feet bleed, and forgoing a social life altogether.
.
They believe this period of deprivation will get them the physical results they want, so long as they go 100mph for as long as they feel "motivated", and then don't fuck up too bad when the "phase" is over.
.
.
This is a fantastic recipe for creating a perpetual hamster-wheel of depression in your life. Seriously.
.
This is WORK without COMMITMENT.
.
The culture we live in has instilled a need for instant gratification in us all, and it's become almost unfathomable to set a year-long goal and STICK TO IT when motivation runs thin.
.
.
Today, I plead with you to break that cycle.
.
.
YOU CAN be the hero of your own journey, and YOU CAN be the example for your kids that you so badly want to be...
.
But NOT without commitment.
.

Ask yourself this: "What SUCKS about being fat?"

You already know.

One of the most effective training methods for building strength is moving weight from a dead stop.
.
Rack pulls, pause presses, rack presses, floor presses, ect. Are good examples of lifts which can be done very differently if you consider taking momentum out of the equation. You may suddenly find yourself struggling to move as much weight, but getting a much greater target-muscle activation.
