So, on the 8th year anniversary of the opening of my first broadway show, 13, I feel it's only appropriate to post about another magical first for me in the world of musical theater. I'm directing an on-stage piece for the first time in my life, and I could not be more pleased with the artistry of my cast and the material, which is one of my favorite new musicals, Once. I'm pretty sure that we are the first amateur production of the show so it's quite the treat (and quite the pressure) to get to reimagine the material for the first time. I'll be posting about it more as we get closer to the performances (2nd/3rd weekends of November) but here's a little vid I snagged during our music rehearsal when it became clear to me that I didn't have much to do. Team Once, you rock. Team 13, I miss you.
