Late night adventures ft. Mars .
I met @erinmalsbury a few years ago in Thailand and I’m so glad we got to reconnect this summer and squeeze a couple adventures in 🤙🏼

I’m having a bit of fun with the drone... also who remembers to #take3forthesea and pick up three (or more!) pieces of trash each time you go to the beach? #planetorplastic #leaveabettertrace

An island, a hammock, and a puppy ✌🏼

Did you know that at most coffee shops (Starbucks included) you can ask for your drink “for here” and get it in a mug or glass? Better for the environment and much more aesthetically pleasing, yay! I also carry a reusable to go cup with me in case I don’t have time to stay. I use an ecoffee cup (super light and made from bamboo) or an insulated klean kanteen bottle with a leakproof lid. Plus bringing your own cup usually means a getting a discount! 🌎

My life looks perfect on social media. While I have taken all these pictures and been fortunate enough to travel a lot, there is a lot that I don’t show. I have an “invisible illness” called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome or POTS. It means there are some days that I really just feel too dizzy to leave the house or get heat exhaustion from not being able to sweat. .
This picture for example was from a backpacking trip a few weeks ago. It was an absolutely gorgeous camping spot (and we were on a trail I promise) but my POTS made me really altitude sick and we had to cut the trip short after the first night. Pictures alone don’t tell the full story of what’s going on behind the scenes and I think it’s really important to share. I had never met another person with POTS until I was 19 and it was so amazing to know I wasn’t alone. Having POTS usually means I’m the slowest one on the trail but I’m not gonna let that stop me from trying.

The Wildfire in Napa and Yolo counties is still burning. The blaze that started last weekend has spread to over 90,000 acres and is around 80% contained. We got a lot of the smoke in the Bay Area last week and while it created some dramatic sunsets, wildfires are very serious. The recent drought has made California very susceptible to wildfire so be careful out there.

It’s my birthday this week and I can’t wait to get outside for some much needed time amongst the trees ⛺️

Summer has arrived!

I’ve been wanting to go back to Australia to do an outback trip lately, probably won’t happen anytime soon but I’ll keep scheming...

Raise your hand if you use a safety razor! They are a great alternative to disposable razors. They are metal and all you have to do is change the blade. I keep a tin with all my dull blades to recycle once it’s full. Less plastic and money, win win!

Reminiscing about playing Tarzan in the jungle

I need me some mountain air! Tag a friend you’re getting outside with this gorgeous weekend 🏔
