Fifty years ago, a handful of volunteers started a grassroots effort to address the struggles of students attending under-resourced New York City public schools. The GO Project was founded with two teachers, 15 students, and donated classroom space at Grace Church School.
Over the years, GO has grown organically to meet the needs of our students and families, always keeping community building and educational access at the core of our work.
Since 1968, we have served over 5,000 students and their families, forged strong relationships with over 50 public schools, and seven host site partners. Starting this October, we are excited to expand to Brooklyn for the first time!
We couldn't have done it without your support! Thank you to our host site partners, public school partners, funders, community partners, volunteers, teachers, specialists, students, families, and staff.
Throughout the year, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary and we hope you will join us. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks! #GOturns50 #GOProject50years
