(2/3) - The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner, "Deconstructed".
The Sub' isn't a classic for no reason. Rolex uses 904L stainless steel, mostly used for technology, aerospace and chemical industries in order to achieve maximum resistance to corrosion but also to make the watch easily polishable.
The dial is what makes a Rolex most recognizable as it creates the identity of the watch. The hour markers are made out of 18ct gold to maintain them, and everything is made in house, by hand.
The Oyster bracelet has also become a timeless classic as it mixes aesthetics and technology perfectly. The Oyster clasp, originally built to make the Submariner easy to wear and close over a suit, also prevents the Rolex from opening accidentally.
The 3135 Movement is self winding and mechanical, reserved for high precision watches that passes the Swedish Official Chronometer Testing Institute tests. It is therefore extremely reliable and the quality is at its finest.
Finally, the bezel, which is definitely a key part of the Rolex Submariner. Manufactured out of hard and corrosion-resistant ceramic by Rolex, the bezel is therefore scratch proof. Not only, but it also happens to be luminescent which ensures readability in a dark environment.
We love the Rolex Submariner overall, it is a perfect daily watch and a must have in every collectors watch box!
