4 more days to submit your artwork!!! Goldsmiths Visual Cultures Society is calling ten unique artists to mark the collaboration with Goldsmiths Composers Collective upcoming exhibition. The ten chosen works will become the incentive for the ten pre-selected composers to respond to melodically, with the artworks and melodies simultaneously exhibited in May.
The theme will explore the ‘Third Space’, alluding to the separation of Man and nature the Anthropogenic epoch welcomes. Where does humanity locate the psyche with the continuous demolition of our environment? Can technological space offer a solution or further complicate our localities?
Open Call deadline: 15th March.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌹Remembering Carolee Schneemann, performance artist who fearlessly confronted taboos around sex and gender, and has died aged 79 two days ago.

Exhibition Opening: POSTPONED Date TBA

VCS Recommends: “Living with Buildings” at Welcome Collection. This exhibition examines the correlation between built environment and physical and mental health of people inhabiting those spaces. It traces the stories of those living in appealing conditions in overcrowded and unsanitary 19th century slum housing and the responses that architects and urban planners such as Howards’s Garden City, Le Corbusier’s Radiant City, and other ideal utopian city plans mounted to this problem.

Lastly, the exhibition traces how urban planning and development has been employed as a tool to improve people’s live, as well as showing how architecture can respond to global issues in health today.
A MUST SEE
