GMHC  Founded in 1982, GMHC was the world's first AIDS service organization. We are dedicated to ending the epidemic and finding a cure.

On World Blood Donor Day, GMHC asks “What Can you do?” Gay men can only donate if they defer for 12 months from their most recent sexual contact. Otherwise, you can encourage someone to make a donation in your place, become a blood volunteer, host a blood drive, or raise awareness around the FDA’s discriminatory regulations on men who have sex with men.

This Pride season, @nautica created a unisex One Pride Tee to show their support for the LGBTQIA community and GMHC. The shirt is available in the link in bio. Get yours today as 100% of proceeds go to GMHC's many services❤️🏳️‍🌈

One year ago, 49 innocent lives were taken in a senseless act of hate at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. Today, GMHC urges our community to stand up and continue to love, as we were meant to, in honor of those we lost❤️

The annual Caribbean-American Health/AIDS awareness day was created to ensure that we cultivate a health conscious atmosphere and encourage the community to get educated, get evaluated, get treated and get involved with their health decisions.

"This year @bcefa has prioritized Long Term Survivors (LTSs) Initiatives as a funding priority both because LTSs have played an important role in the development the HIV response, but also because they face unique challenges due to living with HIV for more than a decade. LTSs have lost most of their friends in the early days of the epidemic. The loss of most of a generation of people living with HIV has contributed to loneliness, social isolation, depression and survivor guilt which many LTSs face every day. Today is National Long Term Survivor Awareness Day and BC/EFA joins GMHC and others HIV partners to salute the contributions of LTSs to the HIV response and to call for others to support LTSs in their struggles to thrive as they enter their golden years.” - Tom Viola #HIVResilient #HLTSAD2017 #LongTermSurvivors

"The people who were first infected with HIV — gay men and drug users, for example — were thought to be expendable and therefore the government didn’t really respond to the HIV epidemic because the right people were dying. Those of us infected with and impacted with HIV and by the loss of our friends stood up and said ‘That’s not right. We have an equal right to life and our life has value.’” - HIV/AIDS activist and VP of Policy at @gmhc, Eric Sawyer. #HIVResilient #HLTSAD2017 #LongTermSurvivors

In 2015, Sean helped GMHC reinstate the Buddy Program, which helps long-term survivors, especially those homebound, live easier lives❤️ "There is something very special about the resilience of Long-Term Survivors that everybody, HIV positive or negative, can learn from. There is a strong will to survive on behalf of those who didn't and GMHC (with the help of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS) are the first to take us into consideration and service us, and respect us, like what we are, the Veterans of the War on AIDS." - Sean McKenna #HIVResilient #HLTSAD2017 #LongTermSurvivors

Today honors some of the bravest Americans who have lived through the unthinkable and helped save countless lives because of their insistence on never giving up. As the world's first AIDS service organization, GMHC salutes our long-term survivors and together we will not only end the epidemic, but never give up on our collective goal of finding a cure.
