Having a set of workout bands is a must!! I still have 2 weeks before I'll be home so gym access is super limited but with my workout bands it is helpful to still get some workouts in with just these as well! People talk to me often about how they struggle to be consistent with working out or how they try to start working out but it never lasts because they hate it. To this I say- then try something else! You don't HAVE to run on a treadmill forever to get a good workout bc let's be honest how many people enjoy that?! One year ago we were loading up and leaving our tiny little city apartment in San Francisco. I can't believe our year assignment here in Chicago is about over and we still don't know where we are headed next๐Ÿ™ˆ. So I went a little too crazy and gained 7-8 pounds this week! I was not opposed to gaining a few pounds in treating myself on everything I was missing but of course a big spike like that up or down is never good so I shoulda been a little less carefree. But I share this for two reasons. 1๏ธโƒฃ it can take months to lose pounds healthy, and a few days to undo it! So it's important to keep that in mind so you don't have any major surprises like 8 pounds the week you are leaving for Hawaii ๐Ÿ˜‚ And 2๏ธโƒฃ more importantly- too many people see a number go up on the scale (which a couple pounds up or down is normal even during weight loss to fluctuate down) but many people get super stressed and jump to a very restrictive diet to drop weight quick. Like I said, any big spikes up or down are not healthy so even though I'm 5 days from vaca ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ and I'd love to drop those extra lbs quick- I don't want to do a yo-yo back and forth to my metabolism. (Once was too much) So I'm not going to stress it, I'll just get back to my macros where I should be, and let my body get back to normal at a healthy pace. I don't do a lot of regular protein shakes, but protein cakes?! Sign me up! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ dieting doesn't have to be bland. Make it enjoyable!! These are super easy and good! For the entire bowl (depending on your protein): 160 cals: 2F 7C 30P. Recipe: 1 scoop protein, 1 tbs special dark cocoa powder 1 tsp baking powder or arrow root, 1/4 c muscle egg 1/4 c almondmilk. 1 packet stevia. Microwave 40 secs-1 min to desired texture but I like it best when it just looks mostly cooked on top and still a little fudgyish in middle. (Let's make that a word.) Top with whipped cream and fav toppings. ๐Ÿ˜‹I've tried lots of powders that have all worked. Originally when I planned to go for this competition it was going to be a one time thing as we were making plans to move to Japan this summer. However we found out this last week that it's looking like we likely will be staying in the states. I had no idea what to expect coming into this national show and what competing in fitness would be like! I'm happy to say it's been awesome! I have learned so much and met so many friends along the way! I didn't have any expectations as I've only started prep for this sport for the first time three months ago. But I'm happy to have met the goals I set for myself and meet such fun girls that share this hobby through the experience! And I am SO incredibly happy for one of my best friends @jobie_obie who has rocked fitness routines and worked so hard the last couple years and I felt so honored to share the stage with her last night when she earned her Pro card! I am so grateful she finally convinced me to try out this sport and excited to see where things go from here! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ I'm so proud of you and all of the other beautiful and talented fitness gals I was able to meet this weekend!
