Since we brought Leo home from the hospital, I’ve been wrapped up in our little love cocoon and it’s been so beautiful! I chose not to leave our house much other than walks and a couple doctors appointments, not only to seal our bond but to help both of us transition into our new lives. I wanted her to have a calm passage from her cozy dark womb to the bright energetic outside world while giving my body, mind and hormones time to heal and acclimate. There has been substantial rest, starring contests for hours (we call it 'watching baby tv'), loads of cooking, an obscene amount of orders from Amazon & Instacart, and a whole lot of loving. It’s a time that I’ll always cherish deeply. Over the last week or so, I’ve been slowwwwly reintegrating into reality, leaving our house for a few hours at a time. I went back to the gym (which feels soooo good), made a cameo at the @summerfridays launch, and have been checking off self-care needs like a much-needed facial, pedicure, etc., and the highlight of running out is most certainly returning home to her. It changes the whole meaning of coming home and I feel so grateful for it. Now, off to a quick work meeting!
