Like so many who have come before him in service to our country, U.S. Army Captain Nick Vogt fought and sacrificed to protect the liberty and freedom of his fellow Americans. Too often we can take for granted the fact that our freedom and security is fought for, provided, and sacrificed for, through the service of a brave and courageous few. Nick, it has been my great privilege to have played a part in supporting this effort to restore your independence and to help empower you to move forward in all the great things that lie ahead. On behalf of everyone at the Gary Sinise Foundation, Welcome Home. (Click Link in bio for video)

After the devastating and deadly fires in Santa Rosa, California, October 2017, Gary Sinise Foundation was able to provide some support thanks to the generosity of the American people who support us. This past April, I was able to visit the area and provide a healing concert for first responders and their families. Thank you to all for your contributions. Here in Reno for the 2018 Disabled American Veterans National Convention. Always an honor to play a concert for them. Pictured here with former national commanders of the @davhq

Farewell Captain.
I will miss you terribly.
I am so very grateful for the honor and privilege of knowing you and having you for a friend.
God bless you always.
Your pal,
Gary

I met John Vigiano in June of 2003 on a troop support visit to Iraq and we have remained good friends ever since. A devoted family man, he served as a US Marine and was a highly decorated veteran of the Fire Department of New York. John was quite simply a great American who inspired countless individuals to service. He introduced me to the FDNY back in October of 2003, at Ladder 132 in Brooklyn after having lost two sons on September 11, 2001. Joe Vigiano, a police officer, and John Jr a firefighter named here in this photo with five of his fallen brothers taken at the firehouse that October day. I am deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful man and will miss him terribly. My heart goes out to his family and all who had the privilege of calling him a friend. I was honored to be among them. Thank you, John. God bless you, my friend.

On this day I think about those who, throughout the years, have answered the call to duty in defense of freedom and independence. My family and I send our thanks and appreciation to our active duty defenders, veterans and the families who have sacrificed alongside them. God bless you all and God bless America. Wasn’t expecting one of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s most recent R.I.S.E. Smart Home Recipients, USMC Staff Sgt. Brandon Dodson, to show up at my Father’s Day concert on the beach at Hotel Del with this t-shirt. HA!
It truly is such an honor to get to know and laugh with our incredible service men & women.

Welcome Home Burkett Family. It’s been a true honor to support this effort as you begin this new chapter in your lives. I look forward to visiting and receiving a tour of your new home soon. (Click link in bio for more)
