Gary Sinise  Actor/Humanitarian, Founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation

Today is the 35th Anniversary of the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings. I’ve had the great honor of portraying a Marine who survived the bombing as 2 different characters, Mac Taylor in CSI: NY was a Beirut veteran, and in the upcoming film, Sgt Will Gardner, out in January 2019, I also play a survivor of the bombings. 35 years ago today a suicide bomber from Islamic Jihad detonated a truck bomb on the building serving as a barracks for the 1st Battalion 8th Marines, killing 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers. Another 128 Americans were wounded in the blast. Today we honor and remember them.

Having an amazing time on our 14th Gary Sinise Foundation #SoaringValor trip with WWII veterans and students from Grapevine Faith Christian High School.

Honored and proud to welcome my friend USAF General Robin Rand (Ret.) to Gary Sinise Foundation as our Chief Executive Officer. Pictured here in Iraq in May 2007. (Press Release Link in Bio)

Last night before my concert for Association of the US Army (AUSA) with (L to R) General Carter Hamm (ret), Chief of Staff of the Army General Mark Milley and Secretary of the Army Mark Esper.🇺🇸

Today is the day I get to share with you the cover for my new memoir, Grateful American. This book isn’t just stories of my time as an actor, but also many stories about some of the inspirational people and experiences I’ve been blessed to enjoy in this life’s journey over the years. I’m excited to share everything in this book with you. You can check out the cover and pre-order your copy now, click link in bio.

Was at Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica this morning. Wonderful photos on the wall including this great shot of Burt Lancaster

Wonderful to have 24 Gold Star spouses of fallen heroes visit Gary Sinise Foundation today as part of our Hollywood Adventure.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this 3 day event to let these special ladies know that they are appreciated, loved and remembered

As I reflect today, on the eve of the 17th anniversary of that awful day, I pray for the families, and thank God for those who have taken up the charge to volunteer across our great country in a salute to all those personally affected by the terrorist attack. (go to: https://www.911day.org/our-story ) I can most certainly say that what happened to our country on September 11 broke my heart and changed me forever. It forced me to rethink everything. What do I really believe? How do I want to raise my kids? What kind of example do I want to set for them? How can I help? Where can I best employ my efforts? What can I do to give back to this great country I love? It was a turning point and marked the beginning of a new level of service. I found that service to others is a great healer, and the more I tried to give, the more I healed. (Visit Facebook page for full message) www.facebook.com/garysinise

Like so many who have come before him in service to our country, U.S. Army Captain Nick Vogt fought and sacrificed to protect the liberty and freedom of his fellow Americans. Too often we can take for granted the fact that our freedom and security is fought for, provided, and sacrificed for, through the service of a brave and courageous few. Nick, it has been my great privilege to have played a part in supporting this effort to restore your independence and to help empower you to move forward in all the great things that lie ahead. On behalf of everyone at the Gary Sinise Foundation, Welcome Home. (Click Link in bio for video)
