๐ŸŒท"Whoever makes a garden has never worked alone; the rain has always found it, the sun has always shown." - Douglas Malloch โ˜‰

Pennies for the ๐ŸŒ. The internet is divided on whether or not this works to deter slugs from munching your sweet sugary baby plants, but my experience tells me it does, so here we go again. ๐Ÿ˜Ž #givepeasachance

Found #Hydrangea Heaven...๐Ÿ’

I ๐Ÿ’œ Spring! I don't even mind the "weeds". This is #purpledeadnettle + #violet . Both edible and beautiful and absolutely covering my garden paths and the moment. ๐Ÿ˜

SO many babies! ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ Thinning + transplanting SOON! โณ

๐ŸŒฑThe Magik of Seeds๐ŸŒฑ Potting up herbs this a.m. since these wee ones have become quite leggy from their desperate reach for โ˜‰ while snug indoors. Here comes the magik...๐Ÿ”ฎ at this stage, if you bury their stems to just below their first set of leaves, the plant cells in the long stem realize this and think, "oh! I need to become a root cell now!", thus forming a stronger root system. How C O O L is that?! #plantnerd

Ok - all week we've had frost/sleet/snow/and temps as cold as a witches tit... But today is beautiful and 60* so that means seed sowing! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Had to bring these babies in a g a i n. ๐ŸŒฑ Fingers crossed the babes in the yard are snug under their frost blankets. The closer to the equinox we get (i.e. more direct angle of the sun's rays...), the more growth will start to rev up. But for now, it's just slow n steady. ๐ŸŒ #fourweeksold

Spring today ๐ŸŒฃ Snow tomorrowโ„

After a good soaking rain ๐ŸŒง is my favorite time spent in the garden. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฑ Things are greening up around here. ๐Ÿ™Œ #spearmint

This beauty arrived today! @floretflower 's book is out TODAY!
I can't think of a better way to spend a rainy afternoon than swooning over books + blooms! Planting more flowers this year as last season we didn't see much pollinator action in our garden. ๐Ÿ #bringonthebugs #floretbook (thinking of my floral felines ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ… @olive_and_pine + @laurelisays ...)

The crocuses are poppin off! ๐Ÿ’œ
"...If you decide to adopt the principles of polyculture you are a pioneer of a new form of gardening and you should document every success, and failure you have - the more we know, the better the system will work. One of the joys of digital media and mobile technology is that we can share our understanding, so think of polyculture in Wikipedia terms and go out there, grow, and then publish." - From Alys Fowler's book The Edible Garden
