Eric E. Rensel, vice president at @gannettfleming, was named to @cpbj's #FortyUnder40 list. The program recognizes the region's most accomplished young business leaders for their dedication to business growth, professional excellence, and community service. “Eric has built his career at Gannett Fleming, and he is consistently encouraging and enabling transformative change,” said Matt Schiemer, PE, vice president of transportation operations. “His expertise in smart cities, for example, keeps our firm at the forefront of technology and data. But for him, it goes beyond that - he sees smart communities as a way to use data to connect vital services and improve people’s lives.” Rensel is a past president of the @itehq Mid-Atlantic Section and currently chairs the organization’s Transportation Systems Management & Operations Council. In addition, he is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Transportation Research Board Freeway Operations Committee and the National Operations Center of Excellence Technical Advisory Committee. Rensel holds a bachelor of science in structural design and construction engineering technology from @pennstate.
