Last week when I was at the gym I noticed some of the scrawnier guys looking at me as I went through my sets. I recognized that look -- it's the exact same one scrawny-me gave to beefier guys a decade ago. The "how the hell do I get there?" look. Never in a million years did I think I'd be on the other side of that.
I'm increasingly happy with who I am and what I look like while acknowledging I'll never achieve my dream body. For me, the mental work is the hardest by far.
Everybody's fitness journey is different. Enjoy yours and most importantly: be good to yourself. You are awesome as-is and we are ALWAYS our worst critic.
Tonight we attended a friend's birthday Sparkle Party. Such a fabulously fun time!! It's a little hard to tell, but I'm covered in silver glitter and Daniel is covered in gold glitter. We'll be finding glitter for weeks, and it was so totally worth it! #gay#beard#glitter#sparkle
Our friend Jeny took this photo of Daniel and I at Trans Pride a week ago. We were just chatting & enjoying each other's company amidst our wonderful community. I love that Jeny captured this casual and affectionate moment unbeknownst to us.
This is love to me. It isn't flashy, but it's wondrous and real.
