Gagosian  Founded by Larry Gagosian, the gallery has dedicated itself to organizing important exhibitions of contemporary and modern art.

"Walter De Maria: Surface Waves" at the SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, opens this Saturday, May 27.
In "Walter De Maria: Surface Waves," the Bay Area native makes his SFMOMA debut with his first sculpture to enter the museum’s collection, an arresting floor piece known as "Large Rod Series: Circle/Rectangle, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13" (1986). Consisting of massive, precisely honed polygonal rods polished to a shine so lustrous that they appear liquid, the work can be shown in three distinct configurations, all of which will be presented during the course of the exhibition. Taryn Simon's exhibition “Portraits and Surrogates,” opens this Thursday, May 25, 6–8PM at Gagosian Hong Kong. This is Taryn Simon’s first exhibition in Hong Kong.
For Simon, photography has always been a vehicle for larger conceptual ideas. Paired with text, her photographs reveal the structures behind controlling systems, from ancestry and borders to botany and diplomacy. Between text and image, a blur occurs and each is altered by the other, again and again, back and forth. To read more about this show click on the link in our bio.

"Music is loose and tight at the same time. A painting is a strongly structured picture. The main thing is, is it interesting in its own right? Is it something worth seeing? In either case, the only relationship I see between the two is the idea not to repeat yourself, not to fall into any set patterns. Every standpoint has to be different." —Bob Dylan, From "John Elderfield in conversation with Bob Dylan," in "Bob Dylan: The Asia Series" (New York: Gagosian, 2011)
On this day, May 24, the singer, songwriter, painter, and Nobel Prize winner was born in Duluth, Minnesota. #BobDylan #ArtistBirthday #Gagosian

Robert Therrien's exhibition of new sculptures and works on paper at Gagosian West 24th Street, ends this Friday, May 26.
Time and again, Therrien's work demonstrates the transformative power of scale and viewpoint, from massive tables and chairs to towering stacks of plates. Works in the current exhibition include highly polished, oversized drops, a large tied bow, and a flagpole, which, although recognizable, is constructed illusionistically according to aerial perspective.
