Seriously nothing more rewarding than making it to the top of a mountain. Over 1300 meters of elevation gain (most of the climb being at a 45 degree gradient) over 5km in 30+ degree Celsius weather...we made it up in just over two hours. After another 5km back down the mountain, my legs felt a lot like jelly. Thanks @ehmannally for joining me on this little adventure. Another mountain off the list and many more to go! .

This is the first full summer that I've spent living in the Comox Valley and it's been wonderful discovering new hikes and places to explore. The options seem to be endless and it makes me giddy just thinking about the coming weeks and the long list of trails I'm going to get to explore. Definitely blessed to live on this island! ✌️

Something we don't have on Vancouver Island is trains. Incredible to think of the history and that trains have lasted over a hundred years of evolution of transportation and are still in use today. .

Maybe not the most flattering selfie on the planet, but the story behind it makes it one of my favorites ↟↟

We took this selfie standing on a narrow cliff beside wapta falls, getting sprayed by glacier water. Braden suggested we take a selfie (this selfie) and then, while I was putting my phone away and getting ready to get the heck off of the steep cliff and back to the safety of solid ground, I turn around to Braden kneeling on this horendously narrow cliff and asking me to marry him. So, not a bad selfie. .

Take me back to where the mountains seem to touch the sky ↟↟

Though I consider myself very blessed to live on Vancouver Island, incredible places like this also remind me of how little of the rest of Canada I've seen, or North America for that matter (Or the world for that matter)...I think I added at least half a dozen hikes to my hiking bucket list by the time I left interior British Columbia alone! ↟↟

I've seen a lot of people posting about their road trips down the Oregon coast and through northern and/or southern BC and I have been more and more inspired, especially after our whirlwind road trip through (what I feel was just a fraction of) BC a few weeks ago, to make that kind of road trip happen this summer.

There is nothing quite like the beautiful teal glacier lakes of Banff National park. Take me back!

Sorry for the hiatus, it's been a busy May, full of a lot of adventures! Can't wait to share some of them!

When you set out on a hike to see some incredible waterfalls in Yoho Provincial Park and leave engaged. I'd have to say that this was one of my favorite hikes to date. ↟↟

Absolutely in love with this custom ring designed by Braden himself. I've never been one for 'bling' so this ring suits me perfectly. And not to mention that I get to take the mountains with me where ever I go is perfect.

Last week, I was lucky enough to get to share four days of camping and hiking with my dogs and my two best friends. Despite the rainy weather, it was hard not to smile knowing how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place and have such amazing people (and animals) in my life to share these kind of adventures with. .

Though Vancouver Island has such an incredible amount of natural beauty, there are only a few places on the island that hold the kind of magic that this old growth rainforest does 🌲
