Pu'u Pehe (Sweetheart Rock). The legend surrounding this 80 foot rock is of a young warrior, stricken with grief over the drowning of his lover jumping to his death. I doubt that though. On my first hike over here, there were local teens climbing to the top and jumping. They all made it.
Aloha. We're in Hawaii with our friends Ben and Chris for 4th of July vacation. After a rocky start on Oahu, we decided to can our plans and ended up on Lanai instead. It's quiet and lovely without much to do but stare into the air... and at awesome landscapes. This was from a short walk behind our hotel last night.
Tea for 2. Another of the after-work tea pickers. She was backlit and it was getting a bit dark out; She very patiently posed while I putzed around with my camera trying to get a decent photo that would do her sweet face justice.
Tea Lady. We were walking back to our hotel from a day of birdwatching when we were inundated with a crew of Tea ladies leaving the fields. It must have been a good day. They were super sweet and all smiles.
Ella View. We stayed at a small tea plantation property in Ella. It was situated on the edge of a cliff. This was the view facing west over the cliff into the valley. Not a terrible way to end the day.
Minty Fresh. On an early morning walk in Galle, this guy was half talking half brushing his teeth in a filling station parking lot. He insisted that I take a photo. Glad I did. He's much more handsome than the giant snail I was taking a photo of when he approached.
