Our daily walks have taken a hit with this cold weather but I’m trying to work them back in! Leisure walks are one of the best forms of exercise especially when stress levels are high (that includes physical, emotional and mental stresses!) 💕

Missy was really happy with her basket ride. 🤣🤣. Figuring out how to keep everyone warm and cozy in and out of the car seat and stroller is actually kind of tricky though. 🤷🏻‍♀️🧐

9 months old today!! I’m loving this age. Big girl status riding in the cart. She’s laughing at all the silly things, dancing, clapping, giving kisses and so playful. And those teeth! 🤓❤️

Hi beauties!! So many of you ask me how I make my (non fried) fries that I post about on insta stories all the time so here it is!
I like to use yellow flesh potatoes. They have a nice buttery flavour and good texture (did you know they are Canadian?! 🙋🏻‍♀️). Feel free to use other potatoes including sweet potatoes.

Leave the peel on and slice into preferred thickness. The skinnier they are the crispier they will be.
Soak them in cold water for 10-20min. Drain and dry off. I just quick dab with a paper towel. Toss with olive or avocado oil and sprinkle with sea salt. You don’t need much of either. Maybe 1 tablespoon of oil and 1/2 tsp of sea salt max for every 4-5 potatoes.
To cook them I use an air fryer which I love but you can also bake at 350 degrees on a parchment lined baking sheet. Toss or flip at least once as they brown. They take about 30min. That’s it. Sooooo tasty. 🍟❤️

This may not be new news but one of my favourite basic nutritional supplements, almost all the time but actually especially while pregnant and nursing is a good quality protein supplement! ❤️🙌🏼
This is a photo of the chocolate protein smoothie I had for breakfast. It’s made from low allergen dairy free protein, whole food, probiotics, phytonutrients and vitamins. It’s blended with ice and water. It’s delicious, quick and gave me a solid 24g protein, 22g carbs, 8g fat and 8g fibre. It is satiating and satisfying. It is essentially a perfect meal and it came in a package.
Guess what, I could have also got that from say a veggie omelette and high fibre toast or chicken, broccoli and sweet potato. Guess what though, I didn’t have that in my fridge today (grocery day!) nor did I feel like it. I wanted a frosty thick chocolate smoothie. 😋

Some supplements can be especially great, they can really help fill nutritional gaps, save time and can be super convenient. They are not magic but depending on your needs they can be an awesome and in some cases even highly recommended addition to otherwise good nutrition and if used correctly, can be really helpful! Especially when life is hectic. 🐣🤪🙏🏼🤷🏻‍♀️❤️ Because I’m breastfeeding I am extra particular about what I’m ingesting. When I choose supplements I look for products with no added artificial sweeteners, colours, filler, soy, gluten or dairy. (Some mamas and babes can tolerate dairy but not all.) 😍

This baby had one wild weekend. 💃🏻😂 One of her first ever friends turned one and she had a blast at his party, she met Santa and wasn’t sure about sitting on his lap but gladly accepted his gift 🤣 (photos to come, my phone died 🙄), she celebrated her Grandpa’s birthday, played for real with her cousin (cutest!) and she popped her two front teeth! 🎉🎉🎉❤️ #biggirlstatus #notababyanymore #growinguptoofast

Postpartum looks different for everyone. The similarities lie in the fact that we have been through an epic journey with our bodies and those bodies do not currently function in quite the same way they did prior to pregnancy.
It’s not that they won’t go back to “normal” again, it’s that they are recovering and finding their new normal.
In my case I had/have a prolapsed bladder, Diastasis recti and a C -section surgery to recover from. These issues are all really, really common. They do not mean you’ll never exercise again or that you shouldn’t lift weights or train abs but it does mean you need to respect the body’s healing process. Respect the need for effective programming as you ease back into your routine.
Breastfeeding is another component to consider. The hormones affect our body similar to pregnancy so another reason not to rush back into your old training style.
I know we all want to get fit again but it’s not only about that. It’s about self love, healing and respecting the journey. We don’t need to be afraid to train and move but we need to understand that things are different and changing daily/weekly/monthly. It’s a progression.
At 8 months postpartum I’m feeling pretty good lifting weights again but with careful attention to my breathing and alignment and a lot of focus on how things feel, especially in my pelvic floor, during the movements and after.

My sweet girl is 8 months old today!! She is playful and silly, strong, smart and the darn cutest thing I ever did see! She’s on a mission to learn everything all the time, she loves smiling and chatting with people (as long as she’s still in my arms) and she loves to eat. She’s crazy active, non stop moving, standing and crawling and into EVERYTHING! She’s quite the little person and there’s really so much more to say about her!! (But I have to run because she’s up from her nap and tearing the house apart while also chasing the dog😜) 💗 —�—
I’ve been thinking about what things have made my life “easier” as a new mom and I think I’ll do a more comprehensive list on my blog but for now here are my top 6

1) babywearing
2) super functional stroller
3) white noise machine
4) online shopping
5) food and grocery delivery options
6) high quality protein/ nutritional supplements
All of the above have really helped me one way or another this past 8 months!

I love this! It’s easy to get lost in all the diet fads, food rules, do and don’t lists, and infographics out there but nutrition doesn’t need to be so complicated. It doesn’t need to be extreme either. Orthorexia and very strict eating can be just as much disordered eating as other issues (I’ve been there!).
