I take my @dyna_pro resistance tubes with me outside for my workouts, like at beautiful #parkcity ⛰! You can even wrap the tube around a tree or any sturdy object for even more exercises! If you were not sweating 💦pink 💗today in Scottsdale 🌵then you missed out . Today was the first #sweatpinkscottsdale event at @athleta and it was fabulous 👍! We first did a circuit training class and all the ladies rocked it 💪finished with a cool down and stretching, then @rxbar provided a delicious snack afterwards ........with 3 delicious flavors to choose from 🌴 coconut chocolate 🍫, blueberry 💙or chocolate 🍫 sea salt.........they are all so delicious we couldn't decide which was our favorite.

Don't quit, just change it up! 💪I know that I can get stuck in a rut for my own workouts, how about you? That's why I am always looking for ways to change up my workouts, not just for variety, but because my body benefits from the change too! The challenges brought on by my recent hiking in @parkcity_utah introduced my leg muscles to new and welcomed soreness (yes I'm a little nutty , I do love the feeling of soreness the day after my workouts 😏) but also the intense challenge of the higher altitude on my heart and lungs was also a welcomed addition to my body too!

Why do you need to change up your workout routines? Because you body begins to adapt to the routine and then it does not need to work as hard; therefore, you get less bang for your buck! What does that mean? You don’t burn as many calories, and your body doesn’t have to work as hard as when you first start a new exercise routine. Your body actually gets a bit “lazy” and goes into automatic mode where it is not challenged as much. So how can you change it up? Whether you are at home or traveling, I challenge you to look around for another way to exercise.

Here are some ideas to help you change up your workouts.
.
🏊‍♀️Swimming (pool, lakes, public pool, ocean)
🚴‍♀️Biking (outside – hills preferably, spin bike, regular indoor bike)
🏄‍♀️SUP (ok, I have never done this but definitely want to try it. @so_this_is_50 has totally inspired me to try it! )
👟Walking/Sprinting (outside – hills preferably, treadmill)
🚣‍♀️Kayak/Rowing (I just kayaked in one of the beautiful lakes recently in @cityofminneapolis while visiting our son, and it was a great way to get my upper body and cardio workout in, try it!).

Wake up 🌞& change it up ⛰! Woke up this morning in beautiful #parkcity and went on an amazing hike up the ski mountain! Tom and I are usually skiing 🎿 down the mountain but in the summer , this is an excellent way we change up our workout and "shock the body"!

HIIT: Heart ❤️ rate went up to 173 (@apple._watch is the best for tracking) climbing straight up the mountain 😅then brought heart rate back to 130ish with level paths, then straight up the hills again ........this is an excellent 👍way to change up our workouts and get a high intensity interval training ✅ done.

Peanut butter protein shake: 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1 T cocoa, 1 1/2c almond milk, and the yummy PBFit peanut 🥜 @betterbodyfoods mixture, blend, then I pour mine into my favorite insulated @takeyausa water bottle! It's keeps it cold all day and this bottle has a no-drip drinkable spout 😊.

Did you know that you can add sweetness and flavor without additional sugar and salt + get loads of fiber ? 🤔 The answer is @cafigs , they are one of my favorite things to add to my @siggisdairy yogurt, especially after my workouts.

Seriously, you get the sweetness plus the figs are Fat Free . Sodium Free . Cholesterol Free . High in Fiber . Antioxidant Rich . Prebiotic Food . That's about as perfect as you can get and then I add it to my #siggisdairy yogurt to get protein👍! In this recipe I topped the yogurt with honey cooked figs, cinnamon and chopped nuts! One of my favorite ways to get an awesome cardio ♥️workout in and beat the heat 😅is the pool 💦!

My go to equipment is @athleta swim suit , they hold everything in place 🍑 and nothing falls out 😉and you look cute 👍! Then put on @speedousa aqua fit gloves and you're ready to go 🌊!

Here is some fabulous exercises to do:
1️⃣run in place as hard as you can with arms swinging and knees up, 30 sec on 30 sec off for 5 times.
2️⃣with gloves on and arms straight do 100 jumping jacks.
3️⃣with gloves on an arms straight jump scissor kicks forward 5 sets of 20.
4️⃣jump up and over (pretend box) jump up and back 3 sets of 20.
5️⃣run the distance of the pool or if smaller pool run in circles for 30 sec fast 30 sec slower for 5 times.
6️⃣finish on ledge ⬆️see picture above by doing tricep dips, then flip over for push-ups!
😀.
Tone, tighten, strengthen your body but still refreshing by being in the 💦 water.
