Congratulations to our Co-founder and Co-director @celinalazarus on her achievement over the weekend! Celina was awarded Business Woman of the Year 2017 at the #IABCA Awards in Brisbane!
Celina’s achievements in the business realm were recognized as outstanding enough to win her this coveted and prestigious award. This award celebrates not only her success in business but also her philanthropy and community spirit. First Crop works tirelessly to build relationships at origin which are based less on trade and more on building up communities and farmers. With projects like the Colombian Woman coffee growers project, Celina is a role model for women in business or with a desire to be in business. She is a fearless and compassionate leader and a pioneer of specialty coffee.
She has also proven herself in the competition format as a Brewers Cup champion and continues to build on her skill set.
As a woman of colour in a white male dominated industry, Celina is an ideal role model and wholeheartedly deserves the recognition for her contributions to the coffee industry both at home and around the world, at the many farms and Co-ops First Crop Coffee supports.
And of course, she couldn’t do it without the support of all our amazing customers! Thank you to all the incredible roasters who buy into our ethos, who support us and value the service and coffee we work hard to import. It’s because of you all that we can build these great relationships at origin and bring incredible, traceable, sustainable specialty coffee into Australia
