🇺🇸If We May Take A Moment.... Mark Edward Hummeldorf, 33, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he attended Oak Hill High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 19 and served with honor for 4 years. After deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in June 2004, he participated in Operation Al Fajr in November 2004 in Fallujah, Iraq, earning a Purple Heart. In September of 2005, he participated in the humanitarian operations in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and during the 2006 Lebanon War he assisted with noncombatant evacuation operations aboard the USS Whidbey.
After discharge, Mark transitioned to public service as a fire fighter. He served at SSFD, Savanah Fire Rescue 1, becoming a Master Firefighter/Paramedic, and, most recently, with Parris Island Fire and Rescue.
Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, Monday, November 27, 2017, at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held in Cincinnati at a later date.
