GOOD NEWS ALERT🚨🚨🚨:
Can we get a hands up 🙌 for @glastofest and their new ban on single-use plastic bottles?
In 2017, Glastonbury Festival attendees went through 1.3 MILLION single-use plastic bottles. 😱
This year, attendees are encouraged to bring, or buy on-site, their own reusable bottles to stay hydrated, and any beverages sold by vendors will be in aluminum cans. 🌎
This new ban comes in addition to previous bans on plastic straws, cutlery, cups, and plates from food vendors, with everything having to be compostable. Bonus: festival wristbands are made of cloth, rather than plastic, but that’s not all. Check out our story to learn more! 😃
This is a big step in the right direction, in answer to an even bigger problem, and we hope that other festivals will wake up and follow suit! 🙌
We like to celebrate anytime that we come a step closer to living in a world where we all #drinkdifferent. Cheers! 💧🌎😃 @guardian
