What happened last night was a tragedy. It’s still so surreal to me. I can’t believe that something like this happened and can’t quite put into words how I feel right now. I feel so furious, sad and heartbroken for all the victims. I was in Las Vegas last week for an outdoor music festival, which is why this is extra scary for me. This could’ve happened at any event, time or place. I saw on the news earlier today that the Florida shooting massacre survivors were sending their love and support to Las Vegas today. It’s so crazy to me that we live in a world where mass shootings happen this often. We don’t know the motive of the shooter, but to me, it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that there are 59 people that lost their lives today and are not going home (police are still counting) and over 500+ people injured right now. This is a time where we all need to LOVE each other, be STRONG for each other, and STAND together.
We live in a world where people hate each other just because of their race, physical appearance, religious beliefs, political beliefs, etc. It shouldn’t matter how one looks or what one believes in. Our differences make us unique. What happened yesterday should be another wake-up call for all of us. It’s a reminder for us to love more and care more for people in our lives now and strangers that aren’t in our lives yet. I see people on social media raving about how many followers they have, the next exotic car, jewelry or materialistic thing that they are going to get. None of that crap matters!!! Yesterday’s tragedy reminds me to focus on what is important and that tomorrow is never a guarantee. We must LIVE each day and not just exist. We must put 110% in everything we do so that we don’t have any REGRETS. We must all LOVE each other because of our differences. Lastly, we must not forget what our PURPOSE is. Our pastor at church always says, “we should all leave more behind than we take from this life.”
