Early August, I’ll officially be 32 years old. And what better way to start hari semakin tua saya by joining #TeamMarathonBaker for @getbiib 1963km Team Challenge.

My second ever hike was at Fraser Hill, and I was supposed to hike up to Gunung Semangkok. But because of my lack of research about anything hiking, little did I know that the overall trail was pure unforgiving, pure suicidal. Thus I decided to stop at Sg Merah instead of continuing up Semangkok.

From Pine Tree all the way up to Sg Merah, and Sg Merah down to Jeriau Falls, my legs have given up on me. Energy wise, Alhamdulillah it was good must’ve been all the energy gels, energy bars, electrolyte drinks and salt sticks that helped me along the way. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to help me with overcoming my jelly legs. .
.
Even though I refused to go up Semangkok (because I knew that my mental state and my legs wouldn’t be able to carry me all the way back out again), I still feel very much accomplished as with someone with literally no hiking experience, I was still able to go up until Sg Merah. I am proud of what I have achieved today even though a couple of instances made my mental state go haywire.
.
The rest of my hiking gang wanted to continue forth up Semangkok so I alone decided to go back. Alhamdulillah at Twin Peak Hill, I met up with a couple of DNF Fraser Hill Tristate Ultra participants and they were amazing in that there were willing to tow me along seeing as I was all alone at the time. Alhamdulillah for Good Samaritans in the world.

Now the big question is whether I will try another attempt to reach Semangkok peak. You’ll have to ask me that if and when I have had more than enough hiking experience with other peaks - mountains and hills alike, because even the most experienced found the trek crazy difficult. .

Back in my groove. Back in my favourite place. My stress reliever. .

My legs are still in slight pain, but not as bad as Monday. And coz my work schedule isn’t so hectic (yet), today is as good as ever to work out a little bit of sweat and get my heart pumping, endorphins flowing and all of that good stuff.
.
Started off with a 20 minute hilly climb on the elliptical, then 3 x 15 sumo weighted sumo squats (first time with 12kg kettlebell!) and finished off with 3 x 20 stability ball crunches. .
.
I want those @lillysabri abs but I also have to train for my running events this month. I think next time I’m gonna try Lilly’s 12 minute abs workout which will probably kill me but worth it. I think. Because honestly, Lilly is actual #bodygoals .

Alhamdulillah. Even though I was among the last people to cross the finishing line, I am still proud that I was able to complete my first ever trail run event @bufftrail.my .
.
I wanted to DNF at KM11 because my legs were telling me to stop seeing as they weren’t fully recovered from yesterday’s day hike. But I am glad that the sweeper didn’t allow me to do so and pushed me to continue.
.

Lesson to be learned: Please don’t do any more of this B2B crazy 💩 pergi hiking the day before trail event. Dah la 2 gunung pergi naik, 40km pulak tu. Then by the time arrive home dah dekat pukul 10pm, no time to recover or relax. Not even enough time to properly pack before going to Maklang’s house then the day of the event you realise you forgot a lot of things. Important things. Padan muka diri sendiri.

So, on Saturday 30 June 2018 I decided to accept abg @irdiryssa21 invitation to join him to Berembun loops hike.
.
Now, being the n0ob that I was , I actually thought this was a santai hike. Unfortunately my first hike, first trail was up puncak Gunung Berembun and Gunung Telapak Buruk (I have no idea the elevation gain brain is too tired to check Garmin) at a total distance of 40km.
.
I have never even attempted HM and suddenly I did an almost FM 😓😓.
.
Did I die? Almost. Mentally and physically deceased. Will I do this again? Ask me again when the pain and lethargy has gone and I’ll give you the answer lolz. Coz when other people were concerned about pacat attack, my brain couldn’t even be bothered at picking them from my socks and pants when I was totally overwhelmed with tiredness and multiple cramp attacks.

Thank you abg Fifi sebab ajak and also banyak tolong, and also everyone else who helped towed me along the way giving me advice and also moral support.

Finally back where I belong @anytimefitnesshapseng2 after being absent for almost 2 months. .
.
Did 30 minutes of rolling hill elliptical workout, then did 5 sets of suicide drills which is physically and mentally draining. Like, this was the first time I ever attempted suicide drill and it is seriously effed up! Finished off with 2 sets 15 reps of jump box squats.
.
My legs feel fine but my lungs are dead to me. I seriously need to work on my breathing coz my lungs have been a bit of a problem well, ever since 10 years ago. Literally had to see a specialist for that. Hopefully it won’t be so problematic that I will need to revisit a specialist again.

Post open house for mum’s staff.

Everyone has left and now we’re gonna take 5 before doing the clean-up.

I’m on raya leave this whole week and have been since the 14th. And I haven’t been working out for two weeks 😱😱. I have been feeling rather lethargic and super stressed out, probably due to lack of exercise plus the calories I’ve been piling on since being on this long leave (among other things).
.
So I decided today is good as ever to get back on track. And after about two weeks of zero exercise and after spending much of the morning doing laundry and other household chores (Hint: menantu pilihan mak awak 😜), I chose to do some intense HIIT workout courtesy of @fitnessblender .
The workouts were as below:
.
High lateral hops
Push up jacks
Jumping lunges
2 sets
45 sec rest

Plyometric pushups
Turkish get ups (right side)
Single leg ventral hops (right side)
2 sets (left side)
45 sec rest

Jackknife crunches
Windshield wipers
Physioball back extensions
2 sets
45 sec rest

Jump turns
Side pushups (right side)
Leg raises
2 sets (left side)
.
1 minute rest before continuing the second round but I made it 3 minutes because I was totally wiped out 😬.
.
I’m glad I did push myself even though I didn’t really get enough rest this whole week. Stress can really get to you and I really do need to work on my stress management. I’m no longer a sprightly 20 year old, heck in a little over a month I’ll be 32 so I really need to keep my health in check.
