"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Let me tell you, never in my wildest dreams could I imagine myself in this image. I've never fit ANY model standard, whether that be age, weight, height, etc. What I've learned while loving myself and growing everyday on this journey is...I'm happy I don't! Women like myself are NOT represented in the media nevermind as being big and beautiful. Society has programmed us to believe that Asian women are quiet, obediant, and docile. Again, I'm happy I'm none of those things and fight these stereotypes everyday. I'm more proud than ever to be representing plus sized-mixed-Asian American women for those who have never felt confident enough to do so because society has programmed us to be ashamed of our beautiful curvy bodies (we were blessed with!). I'll never fit certain standards and I'm happy with creating my own lane! This shot right here not only proved to myself I can take on a high fashion challenge but more so an industry. An industry that currently represents everything I'm not. Yet here I am killing some @csiriano with the Queen of pose herself! There's a longer journey ahead but the fire inside is burning bright and I can't wait to see what lies ahead.
