Emily Ponsonby

To the juiciest 👄 on the tube yesterday morning! Hunting ground = Northern Line... pucker up people! WIP.

A new drypoint engraving of a fabulous fresh faced sitter. Beard was whipped off prior to the sketches and tash is being lovingly cultivated back to its former twirly tipped glory. All in the name of art. Another piece to join the ever swelling portfolio between @beatricehasellmccosh.artist @rosaliewatkinsart and @clemstjw for our exhibition 'HAIR' - 22nd Nov - 17th Jan!

The wonderful Michael, found strolling through Brixton Market.

A glimpse of the new kid on the block! I'm constantly developing my beeswax and oil technique. Here I've filled the etched lines with oil rather than painting each hair on individually... hopefully it gives a more brittle, unruly feel to the hair.

I am soo happy to be back smothered in ink! First stage of a new etching. Many more layers to come.

A sneak peek at a new waxy work! To see it in its entirety you must pop 22nd November in your diary and come to the PV of 'HAIR' a collaborated exhibition with the super talented @rosaliewatkinsart @beatricehasellmccosh.artist and @clemstjw. Location: Chelsea Waterside Art Space. It's going to be a cracker!

Studio snap! Oh how I love a good chair and its power to transform a sitter's pose. There can be no great painting without the subject being at ease and comfortable in the artist's presence. And what a lot of gibberish I talk trying to achieve this!

Today's Everest. Right after this photo was taken I scraped back the eye and frame and re-jigged the whole facial structure. It needed to be less descriptive and more of just a sense of the features. Every alteration adds a shadow of what's been before, hopefully creating an intriguing 3D quality to the layers of the face.

Meet Norman! A trawler fisherman by day and 🍞making extraordinaire by night. He is the father of 14 and grandfather to 32. Yellow is his colour. What a wonderful few days I have had all thanks to Norman's good humour and Andrew's expert eye.

Day 1 of measuring, re measuring... and measuring some more. Under the watchful eye of the completely wonderful Andrew Festing.

Painting under the watchful 👀 of the Master's. "Under pressure.."!

2 chairs and a floating head. WIP. Looking forward to getting stuck into the wispy beard and hair curls with my scalpel!
