Emily Treacy  I'm an inch too short to be a Rockette. #neuropsychology #POTS #narcolepsy #braintumorsurvivor #umhb'17

When other chronic illness friends make you laugh. Thanks @chronically_kelsey πŸ˜€ #POTS #chronicillness #chronicmigraines #narcolepsy

Constantly have to remind myself this.
Due to medication and lack of exercise due to the fear of making my medical symptoms worse, I have gained a lot of weight over the past year and a half. I have to remind myself that even though I can't fit into the clothes I used to wear and now I basically wear baggy tshirts and leggings (don't forget those compression socks that has been crucial to helping with my POTS), that this is temporary.
I am now in a cardiac rehabilitation program where my exercise is monitored closely. I have reduced some of the medications that at one time were vidal yet caused serious sideaffects. My chronic illnesses right now may be at the worse they have ever been but I need to remember that I am so much further than the day before. It's small steps to recovery and by recovery I mean that my symptoms are manageable day to day. I may never be able to get back to the days when I used to dance 10 + hours a week but I can become a better person. I can do this by strengthening myself by means of physicals and mentally and sharing my struggles of being a chronic illness warrior and spreading awareness of invisible illnesses.

This is Jaquie. @chronically_jaquie is someone I have gotten to know that past couples months via her vlog channel and has quickly became one of my role models. Jaquie talks about her many chronic/invisible illnesses as well as her helpful service pup Harlow @helper_dog_harlow. Jaquie not only tells her story to help spread awareness she helps people like me feel less alone in our chronic illness world.
This is one of my favorite vlogs that she has ever done. She explains so eloquently what I have never been able to do. She piles the words together to make sense not only to other chronic illness warriors but to people who have no idea what a chronic illness entails. This vlog explains why I can be so tired some times and how I have no control over it.
This vlog is in my descriptions if you are interested in watching it.

safety is a number one priority the more freedom I regain. once I got a diagnosis I could finally get a medical ID bracelet but being me it had to be somewhat fashionable and something that fit my style. I took inspiration from one of my favorite necklaces from @mrkatedotcom and had a beautiful juxtaposition of tough yet feminine. thank you @laurenshopeid for this beautiful piece of life saving jewelry. #potssyndrome #POTS #medicalidbracelet #whynot

I love the message that @jalexanderguidry is wanting to spread. I am thankful I could lend my voice to be a small cog in his writing machine. He also allows me to share my story and spread awareness of invisible illnesses.

today is bitter sweet. @umhbalumni #umhbgrad πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸŽ“

sometimes you need to get the thoughts out before you can finally fall asleep.
helping someone with an invisible disability in the public eye but not in your private life is the same as bragging about your volunteer work to social media when it is actually community service.

show me a university who lets you robe your favorite "junior", sing your almamater and dance the Cru spirit dance at midnight with the junior and senior class, light candles with people who have made an impact on you these past four years (well for me two years), and ring the senior bell, then I will show you Mary Hardin Baylor πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œ

whoever said no new friends clearly wasn't taking about flora and fauna.

why do I pass out / fall so often

today one of four doctors I visit on the reg finally saw my bp low while I was on medicine to prevent low pb. I'm a sick girl and a rare case but I mean look at that mask it is awesome! #positivyseeking

I'm smiling because I get to go to Chicago on thursday. πŸ¦„

because of my recent medical problems I haven't been drinking coffee. and if you know me that is really hard because of other medical issues that make me super tired. but I am going to try tea now. I think @kat_bernie made an impression on me.

feeling so much better today! Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me / sending good vibes. The neurologist has done as much as he can do right now and is sending me to a autonomic disorder specialist in Dallas. He had also taken me off the seizure meds that have had me gain weight these past couple months, and has given me a medicine for low blood pressure. I also saw my OCD therapist this weekend and she helped me dig out of my hole of a pity party. I am so glad to have a school, doctors, friends and my family who support me when I am down.
