I am proud of my mother and I wish I could share all the personal things I am most proud of her for in this public forum, but some things are too personal and belong in a book with a strong pen name. Ha!
She lived a fascinating life. From growing up in a bad part of Brooklyn, being an orphan at 10, then losing her home again at 16 and being homeless; then worked as an Office Manager for Nixon, Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, & Alexander on Wall Street. She briefly tried standup comedy, I always genuinely laugh when she does an impression of Jimmy Stewart receiving a lap dance. She did so much in her life with limited resources. I am proud to say she is my mother because she is independent, strong, vulnerable, caring, quirky, nutty, hilarious, and has shared her wild, free spirited Pisces imagination with my sisters and I. I am happy that it is Mother’s Day. #HappyMothersDay💘 #UnsinkableSoul
