“How do pros eat?”

To be honest, most of my husband’s and my meals are pretty well balanced, made with whole foods (think lots of grain bowls with plenty of veg & protein)—but if I’m craving a glass of wine or @kneaddoughnuts , I’ll treat myself with 0 guilt. I think everything in moderation is a good lifestyle. Because of this I don’t crave lots of junk food or sweets after racing season! Because nothing was ever guilt inducing/totally off limits to begin with. When asked what my post race “treat” meal was I couldn’t think of one. Probably because I don’t think of food as a something to reward myself with in the first place. Food is fuel. If I want to reward myself, I’ll treat myself to a face mask, new nail polish, the *occasional* online shopping (lol sorry Shane), latte, or a new book to name a few. •

I’m also a big believer in listening to your body. I find it often tells me what it needs! For example, when I’m up at altitude I definitely notice I want more carbs and iron rich meat. Or when it gets hot here in the desert, my body prefers less coffee and more electrolytes! •
