So happy I changed to focus on being STRONG not just SKINNY. There is nothing wrong with being skinny, I still AM skinny; but that’s NOT my #1 focus. The modeling industry was not as open to different sizes back then as it has become today - still has a way to go.

I remember hearing from my agency that I should lose 15-20lbs because that would help me gain success in runway modeling. I remember being told that I wasn’t fit enough to be a fitness model. It always felt like you were never quite good enough. They always wanted something different.

I’m thankful for those experiences because it taught me to LOVE the body I have - the body that’s allowed me to run 11 full marathons, countless half marathons and other races. That allows me to train hard everyday and be dedicated to this sport — which gives me SO much fulfillment that modeling never could. Focus on what YOU can control.

Last day in paradise! Have had a lot of great memories and lots of running over the past week!

55 miles Saturday - Friday including 2 hard workouts 🧡💪🏻

This AMs long run — 2 mi warm up ⚡️3 @ 6:59 avg ⚡️.5 mi recovery then 4 x 1mi at 6:39 avg with 2 min recovery ⚡️ 2 mi cool down ☀️ 70 degrees w dew point 70, not used to this kind of weather so I’m happy with those results!🤣

Also let’s be real - it took me 25 minutes to get out of bed this AM to actually DO the workout. I had convinced myself several times over to just do it tomorrow when I’m back up North. That I’d hit my paces then. That it would be easier.

But one part of me said don’t be a procrastinator, don’t be weak. And so I got up, and I did it 💪🏻

Just wrapped up my last run and workout of 2018 - 12 x 2 minutes at 5:50-6:10 pace! Sucking air down here in Florida 😂😂 What a year it’s been!!

🏃🏼‍♀️Grateful for my legs and heart taking a leap of faith and joining @sarahbishopruns and @mckirdytrained in this journey of getting fast! I had a wall in my head that was solid and concrete. I never ever ever thought I could be a 3:15 runner let alone a 3:05 runner. I’m so excited to see what’s in store for 2019! THANK YOU for helping me break the wall and allowing me to foster a belief of infinite potential in myself.

🐶Even though Bodhi didn’t make one of my top 9 photos (much to my dismay) he is one of my BIGGEST joys of 2018. He is just a ray of sunshine in our lives and we are lucky to be his puppy parents!

Hind legs for days 🥰 best running buddy🐶

Hard to get out the door some days but I always love it when I’m out there! That’s what I try to remember when I’m fighting putting on the shoes. •
4.5 miles ☀️🏃🏼‍♀️easy running in preparation for my 5x1 mile repeat workout tomorrow!

8 sunny miles ☀️obsessed with my new pullover from Christmas 🥰🧡

Thankful for these peeps! They ran my warmup and the first two intervals of my workout with me 😄

First workout back and legs felt good! Things got hard by the 10th rep but I pushed through to the finish 💪🏻

Can’t avoid hills around here! Went to scope out the track near home for my first workout back tomorrow morning after CIM! Excited and nervous — switching gears slightly to focus on running a fast half in March but also maintaining the distance to then run Boston 5 weeks later. 🤩🦄

Humbling miles filled with ups and downs quite literally. •
6 miles - 704 ft elev gain - 8:46 pace

Run done - always better together! First 7.3 with @d_dibona and then tagged in Bodhi for the rest. 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🐶

Excited for one day where Bodhi can run all of it but at 7 months old this is plenty enough 😍

Know it’s not #tbt today but wanted to express my LOVE and passion for this running community! I am so thankful to know (virtually or IRL) so many of you inspiring and amazing runners & people. I’m thankful to be part of the @mckirdytrained community which has grown so much just in the 9 months I’ve been on board! 🤩 Community is what keeps this so exciting and motivating for me. 💕

@whitney_wil_run and I had never met before but when @sarahbishopruns heard we were rooming together at CIM she knew we’d be instant friends!

Can’t wait to meet more of you all someday!
