When my daughter Amelia was growing up, I was a Brownie leader. On Tuesday afternoons, I had a dozen little girls show up at our house to work on earning their badges. In fact, my last serious attempt at raising money before I ran for the Senate in 2011 was serving as cookie chair for one of her troops when she got older.

So I was delighted to meet Sylvia Acevedo, the CEO of the Girl Scouts, on a train this morning. Decades ago, Sylvia earned her Science badge in New Mexico – and it inspired her to become a real life rocket scientist.

Today, the Girl Scouts have 2.7 million members – and more than 59 million women are Girl Scout alumnae. It has been at the forefront of our country’s movement for diversity and tolerance, empowering girls of every racial and ethnic group, geography and background to make a difference in their communities. And it teaches little girls that they can reach for the stars.

Happy to march with more than 125k women (& friends of women) in Boston today. We can whimper, we can whine, or we can fight back. #womensmarch #boswomensmarch

Thank you, President @barackobama. We'll miss you.

After the 2008 financial crisis, the big Wall Street banks hated my idea for a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The financial industry spent $1 million a day to kill financial reform. But we had a powerful champion on the inside – someone who passionately believed that we needed to help level the playing field for working families. That leader was President Obama, and I’ll never forget it.

Sure, President Obama and I have disagreed a few times – but we’ve been together in the trenches on many, many more fights. President Obama is a good man who has made our economy, our country, and our planet safer. And above all, President Obama has given us hope – hope that there really is change we can believe in.

Thank you, President Obama. #obamafarewell

Every New Year’s Eve, my husband Bruce and I stay in and watch Casablanca. It’s a movie about love, loyalty, and courage, and also about pain, vulnerability, and sacrifice. It tells about how people survive, flourish, and fight back. And even though I’ve seen Casablanca about a zillion times now, watching it tonight with my sweetie before the ball drops is one of my very favorite traditions.

Every time I watch it, Casablanca gives me hope. And it is with hope – and our incredible team – that I know we will keep making a difference in the year ahead. Have a safe and happy New Year’s with the people you love!

Happy Holidays! We wish you and your loved ones peace and joy this holiday season and the year ahead. I'm deeply grateful to have you by my side.

My grandson is six. He’s a sweet, skinny little boy with big brown eyes and a lisp. Yesterday, as I pulled out the bowls to start working on a cake, he asked in a low voice if we would still have Thanksgiving since Trump was elected. I said yes, we would.

I know that this election has been tough, and that many people are deeply uneasy about what 2017 could bring. I’m one of them. But today, I remind myself that I’m thankful – deeply thankful – to have you by my side, to keep fighting for a country and a world where all of us and all our children and grandchildren have a fighting chance to succeed.

Your stories, your hopes and wishes are with me today and every day. Thanks for being a part of this, and I hope you and your loved ones have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Today we honor and thank America’s brave veterans who have given so much in service of our country. All three of my big brothers served in the military, and my oldest brother was career military. I understand how much our military families contribute to this country – and we must honor that service with more than just words.

When I was setting up the CFPB, one of the first things I did was set up an Office of Servicemember Affairs to protect our military families from predatory lenders and financial scams. I’m going to keep fighting my heart out in the Senate to protect that new little agency – and fight my heart out against any Republican effort to cut spending for essential services and support for our veterans.

My friend @tammyforil is one of the toughest fighters I know. Delighted to have her in the Senate!
