Portrait of Marie Antoinette d'Autriche, the last queen of France – Her beauty and lovely being was undeniable, by @keyramargarita
The artist writes: Marie Antoinette d'Autriche, the last queen of France, she die victim of French revolution on October 16th of 1793, nine months before her husband King Louis XVI. In her honor I made this paint with watercolors; she wasn't a wonderful queen, she wasn't prepared for that duty nether her husband they was just in the wrong place and time; however there's something we can't diny and is her beauty and her lovely being. Maximum shape of rococo, forever lives in human's remembers. @east_77

The beautiful Marie Thérèse Louise of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe (1749-1792) dear friend of Queen Marie Antoinette, about 1776, when the Princesse was 27 and the Queen 21, after painting at that time by Antoine-François Callet. This wonderful watercolor drawing is by @albypretty85
The artist writes: Portrait de la Princesse de Lamballe. 👑 🌹 Many thought to be the closest friend of Marie Antoinette, together with la Duchesse de Polignac. 🎨 Art by me #artwork #princessedelamballe#marietherese #marieantoinette #drawing#watercolor #18thcentury #allthingsmarie#queenoffrance #versailles

5-Year Challenge: Marie Antoinette, 1788 / 1793
Collage post in response to a recent Internet challenge that requires people to post before and after selfies that are 10 years apart. This challenge also spauned the 5-year challenge for selfies 5 years apart. For Queen Marie Antoinette, the 5 years apart, the images I put together are:
Left - 1788, when she was the 32 year old Queen of France, majestic in her blue velvet dress and matching diamond studded toque, arrayed in her strands of pearls, earrings and feathers, the most beautiful, opulent and glamorous Queen of all Europe, as painted by Vigee LeBrun, just a year before the outbreak of the French Revolution, and
Right - 1793, when she was 37 year old Widow Capet, dethroned, stripped of all her wealth and finery, inprisoned, separated from her her family, tried, found guilty, and beheaded by the guillotine. We see the image of her severed bloody head as sketched by the revolutionary artist Jacques Louis David. This collage and post by @east_77

The public sale of the furniture and effects of the former Queen of France, (“Ci -Divant Reine”), taken from the Petit Trianon. The sale in August 1793, two months before her death, four years after the revolutionaries had forced the Royal Family to leave Versailles to return with them to Paris – Marie Antoinette would never see her beloved Petit Trianon again. The beheading of the former Queen of France Marie Antoinette. The guillotine blade, realed. Her head severed, falls into gthe basket. The executioner Henri Sanson, now holds aloft the bloody severed head of Marie Antoionette, her beautiful feathered head, the most ostentatious symbol of monarchy, privilege and aristocracy. And now the greatest symbol of the triumph of the French Revolution held aloft for the huge assembled crowd to see and to cheer “Vive la Republique.” The event well shown in this fine drawing by @suetoddportraits
The artist writes: Inktober 2016 prompt, 'creepy.' Executioner, Henri Sanson, holds aloft the severed head of Marie Antoinette to show the crowd the Queen is dead. Use of the guillotine was proposed by physician, Joseph-Ignace Guillotin, during the French Revolution as a more humane means of capital punishment. It was also a more efficient way of separating people from their heads and facilitated thousands of beheadings of innocent citoyens during the most paranoid years of the Jacobin reign of terror. The beheading of the former Queen of France Marie Antoinette. Her beautiful feathered head, the most ostentatious and hated symbol of monarchy, privilege and aristocracy, now locked in the vice. The sharp deadly blade of the guillotine ready to fall, which will end her life.

Inktober 2016 prompt, 'scared.' The Queen is executed by guillotine 16 October, 1793, nine months after her husband, King Louis XVI. In her prayer book she wrote: “This 16th of October at 4:30 in the morning My God, have mercy on me! My eyes have no more tears to weep for you my poor children; farewell, farewell! Digital ink.
