Today, the 4th if July, #DCMConsultingfreaks is one of the greatest days of all time. The "Great Experiment" started 1776. To the rest of the world...You are welcome!
Now read this.. "The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. -- I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. -- Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not." - John Adams 3 Jul 1776

Part 3 of 3
WWII Special Operations
The last photo is a hollywood depiction of Allied Forces assaulting and advancing on "Bloody" Omaha Beach. #dday Yes it's a still from "Saving Private Ryan" but actually the first 20/30 min you witness is almost exactly how "Dog Green" sector was opened up. This and other actions is how the Rangers own the Mantra..."Rangers, Lead the Way"
RLTW is now known throughout the modern Special Operations community... always remember them!

Part 2of 3 WWII Special Operations

This photograph is of General Eisenhower taking some time out to wish Godspeed to some members of the 101st Airborne. 101 along with 82nd AA was integral in taking key road junctions/bridges and enemy gun emplacements before the #dday landings. Below is Eisenhower's "Great Crusade" speech/letter to all invading forces. "Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year I944 ! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of I940-4I. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned ! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good Luck ! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking." Signed….Dwight D. Eisenhower

Again, don't hesitate to ask questions in the comment section.

Part one of three WWII Special Operations

Today my friends, and #DCMConsultingfreaks , we celebrate the brave men that came before us. The particular anniversary is that of the 6th of June 1944 #dday #rangers from the 2nd Ranger Battalion were already on the way to assault Pon du Hoc. Colonel James Rudder had trained for and assaulted those cliffs that were supposedly the hiding place of large caliber German weapons that would harass the largest invasion of all times. Ask questions of the action in the comments.

After a great Leadership day with the great men of Lifebridge and some pistol and rifle work we finished with a "walk back" I hope that my ole mentor @rob.leatham will smile at my demonstration. Rob, I still want to go to Hogwarts. By the way the last shot was 100 m with an @mhacustom .45. So keep working hard you #DCMConsultingfreaks !! #tacticalcancerasskicker out!
