📝I always talk to my clients about #balance and balance is not just about food! In order to be happy, we need to be in balance. Too much food is not good, too much dieting is as bad, heck too much love can also be bad! And the same applies to work/life balance. Take care of your health, outerlooks, family, friends and don't let everything be about work, dieting or fitness. And that's exactly what I did yesterday! I took a break from work (never from my patients💞) caught up with friends, family and got a much needed makeover! here are 5 tips on how to achieve balance in our hectic lives
1. Let go of perfectionism
As my patient Anamae says, no one is can be perfect, we are perfectly imperfect!The key to avoid burning out is to let go of perfectionism, the healthier option is to strive not for perfection, but for excellence.
2. Unplug
Phones, laptops, etc.. technology is great but it created expectations of constant accessibility. The work day never seems to end. Make quality time true quality time.
3. Exercise
Even when we’re busy, we make time for the crucial things in life. We eat. We go to the bathroom. We sleep. And yet one of our most crucial needs – exercise – is often the first thing to go when our calendars fill up. Exercise is an effective stress reducer. It pumps feel-good endorphins through your body.
4. Limit time-wasting activities and people
First, identify what’s most important in your life. This list will differ for everyone, so make sure it truly reflects your priorities. Next, draw firm boundaries so you can devote quality time to these high-priority people and activities. From there, it will be easier to determine what needs to be trimmed from the schedule.
5. Change the structure of your life
Sometimes we fall into a rut and assume our habits are set in stone, ask yourself: What changes could make life easier?
So instead of trying to do it all, focus on activities you specialize in and value most.

2 cups almond meal or finely ground almonds
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 - 1 cup sweetener of choice
1 C Coconut oil, chilled
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 large egg whites
2-4 Tbs. water, warm
12 oz. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional- I use stevia sweetened chocolate chips
📝Bring all ingredients to room temperature except coconut oil
📝Preheat oven to 325 degrees
📝Mix the flour and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.
📝Use a mixer to mix the sweetener and coconut oil. mixture is creamy, add the vanilla, salt and egg whites
📝Add the flour 1/2 cup at a time adding a tablespoon of warm water as necessary to mix the flour. CHILL DOUGH FOR AN HOUR TO OVERNIGHT-very important
📝Mix in chocolate chips. As the dough gets thicker you may want to mix by hand.
📝Roll into 1 inch balls and press down to make flat
📝Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown and let cool completely
