Children’s Drawing Workshop @tomatostudio_ in East Finchley this Sunday. -
Inspired by the work of Rhoda Kellog, this workshop is a chance for children to experiment with drawing without the interference of adults guiding or influencing what they do. ‘Scribblings, as a record of the seeing and acting of young humans, offer a way to discern more clearly childrens developing vision and mental processes, and perhaps to work a reformation in early childhood education.’ - ‘It is a truism that better understanding of the child mind is an urgent need if society is to protect itself from the waste and destruction caused by miseducation, but the statement needs repetition.' -
Rhoda Kellog was a clinical psychiatrist specializing in child psychology, Kellogg (1898–1987) pioneered the use of children's art as a tool for studying childhood development. She worked with nursery school children for 20 years and collected in the region of 1 million children's drawings.
