Had a great discussion with @grainnehealthcoach about how habit stagnates learning.
This is so true when it comes to your training because if you’re doing the exact same movements all the time it can slow progress and possibly lead to over use injuries.
In the video I present a few ways you do not even need to increase the load in order to change the neural signal your body is receiving about the stress that’s being put on the muscles called into play.
Make more progress through varied exercise but variance without consistency is not terribly useful. .

‪Slowed this down so you can see that the most important part to all of this is Midline strength and the shape in my legs regardless of what movement I do.
Take particular notice of my hip height on the upward swing on the muscle up.
If you’re inconsistent in these movements it’s because you don’t understand where the power is coming from and are not working on the floor to drill your shape

I’ve been enjoying the numerous benefits of the #sauna and steam room from a weekly visit I’ve made over the past few months.
Over the past week I’ve been going daily to help shake off a cold and it’s really helping.
@foundmyfitness has written and spoken About it’s benefits, such as, decreased inflammation, improved sports performance and boosts growth hormone production. You should be able to find the link on #YouTube and on @timferriss website.
As it’s been so cold out recently try to get in a spa session to not only heat you up but help with performance in general. .

The #muscleup is quite a difficult movement to master and can lead to injuries just trying to get one or in moving beyond being able to do one or two.
Shape and position strength are the two main areas I notice people having problems in.
With shape it’s about keeping the legs straight especially on the back swing (As shown) and with strength it’s about having strong false grip chest to ring pull-ups. When people pull towards the rings on the up swing and they fail it’s generally because their false gip pulling strength is inadequate or they pull too early.
Drills to help with this need to be practiced in a range of ways that don’t require you to be on rings and take time and patience but when you get it you’ll experience that sense of flying through the rings rather than trying to muscle through every rep.

Trail running on a Tuesday.
Had an excellent 40min run with @thejackwise today in knocksink woods.
We both wear heart rate monitors and treat it as a steady pace session but still getting about 7.5km done in that time.
Autumn is in full colour and great to get out in nature .

At times I think people put both the #squat and #deadlift on high pedestal when it comes to lower body exercises and neglect single leg work.
I often find people can get less injuries and better results through more or even mainly single leg work particularly in the early stages of training.
Here I’m performing a pistol with a 10kg plate. No special shoes, belt or wraps needed. Master the body weight movements .
