The Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Photo Lens unlocks a whole new world. Did you know a hive of bees will fly 90,000 miles, the equivalent of three orbits around the earth to collect 1 kg of honey!? Amazing right!? Gotta love that honey 🐝

The week is halfway over, only two days left! Happy Hump-day 🗻

En route to Haines, Alaska, “The Adventure Capital of Alaska”, this is one of the many views from the state ferry.

Haines is located along the edge of North America's longest and deepest fjord, 68 nautical miles north of Juneau in Southeast Alaska. Be advised if you visit - you won’t want to leave!

DENALI 🏔 Is this the best view in all of Alaska, if not the country? I think so.

It’s hard not to worry about the people on Hawaii’s Big Island as Kīlauea shows no indication of stopping. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
“Kilauea, on Hawaii’s Big Island, is threatening to blow its top in coming days or weeks after sputtering lava for a week, forcing about 2,000 people to evacuate, destroying two dozen homes and threatening a geothermal plant. Experts fear the volcano could hurl ash and boulders the size of refrigerators miles into the air.” @weatherchannel

Beauty lies with destruction 🌋

I hope to one day return to Kīlauea and stare into the fire inside once more. I’ll wait until Pele settles down though 🌋

Waves don't die. Let me crash here for the moment. I don't need to own it. No lie.
Waves don't die, baby. Let me crash here for a moment. Baby I don't, I don't need to own... Sun don't shine in the shade (turn it up!). Bird can't fly in a cage (turn it up!). Even when somebody go away (turn it up!). The feelings don't really go away. That's just the wave (yeah) 🌊🌊🌊

Honolua Bay is Maui's most popular surf spot. The Maui Women’s Pro is held at Honolulu Bay year after year. In this photograph, surfers take a break during the annual competition.

While known for big wave surfing (particularly in the Fall and Winter months), Hawaii does have occasional “small” waves like the one captured here - perfect for beginners and body-boarding. #OptOutside this weekend. Aloha 🤙

The following was just announced yesterday, I am glad I was able to see the lava flow up close during my visit. “Due to the possibility of a new eruption and unstable geologic activity, park management closed 15,688 acres near Kīlauea Volcano’s Pu‘u ‘Ō‘ō vent to the ocean today, including the gravel emergency access road from the eastern gate near Kalapana, to the western gate at the end of Chain of Craters Road, and all land on the makai (ocean) side of the emergency road.”

Kīlauea covers about 14% of Hawaii's Big Island and is the youngest of the five volcanoes that make up Hawaii! The current eruption rate of Kilauea volcano is 250K-650K cubic yards/day (200K-500K cubic meters/day) 🌋🌋🌋
