The Enigma is the life that being represented through these artworks and the result of artists' observation on the relation between women and their roles in shaping the social reality.
In this series, we will revisit one of Anas Etan's large painting that reveals his thought about the society attitudes to the broadcast media on the economic, politic, social, and culture issues, especially on how it often objectified women.
While taking inspiration from his daughter imaginative stories, Awan Yozeffani painting also serve as a bite of reality that questions us about our own origin as well as our diverse cultural identity.
Djunaidi Kenyut draws his interests from the Balinese women who carry things on their heads. We are allowed to interpret the meaning by both explicit and implicit manners at the same time.
Imam Sucahyo never draw a line on the social spectrum between what is perceived as acceptable by the norm and what is not. He challenges our view with his enigmatic visual expression about the complex beauty and struggles from the female prostitutes and transgenders who are often being marginalized by our society. -
Lastly, we also invite Ibk Sindu Putra to present his artistic twist on the overly done interpretation on Balinese women. Exotic beauty adorn by intricate headdress and earring, except that this time it serves cold through black and white interpretation of crumpled pictures. Sindhu entices us with his paintings that our records of the past may have already become a myth. -
Come and witness with your partner, best friend, colleague, relatives, or maybe someone you meet first time in this art exhibition to reflect. We all are those women as we own the same story.
