I'm going to be speaking on a @sarabandefoundation panel tomorrow (weds) night on the subject of image rights and ownership in the digital age, along with legal experts from law firm, #BakerMcKenzie. One of the hot topics of discussion will be the rise of #streetstyle and #influencers. Are photographers being exploited by influencers who use their street style photos on their sponsored Instagram posts without compensating the photographer? Or would street style photographers not be in demand if these tastemakers hadn't helped to elevate them? Whose image rights are they anyway? We're going to unpick the thorny subject in a way that hopefully offers useful takeaways and insights for artists, photographers, brands and content creators.
