Here's the rest of the place I showed yesterday—Memphis' abandoned U.S. Marine Hospital. From 1884 all the way to the 1930s, it was added onto and used to care for injured military personnel. Here, they even did scientific research to cure yellow fever. In 1965 it shut down for good, and now it's private property. Give it a Google if you want to know more. // Memphis, Tennessee

That's just a suggestion, right? No, but really...I found this place on the way home from Mississippi a couple months back, and let's just say I can't wait to share more of this place later. // Memphis, Tennessee

In recent months, I've struggled some when deciding where my Insta and my photography should go. Should I get outdoors more and hike more? Should I solely document my trips? Should I go explore more good ol' abandonedness? A couple days ago, I found my answer. I've come to the realization that I need to make this my photography, my travels, and my life, and that I don't need to worry about appeasing everyone out there in the world. So, what kind of photographer am I? I guess, most days, I'm an Arkansas weekend warrior. Some weeks, I'm a sightseer to new places. Occasionally, I'll be an explorer, a tourist, whatever term you want to use. In the end, though, I know where my roots are. // near Long Pool Falls, Arkansas

A year has flown by. It's been a year with lots of ups, some downs, many highs, and a couple lows. It's been a year of change and upheaval, sometimes, as I started college. It's also been a year with Claire here. She's been there with me through almost everything, and she hasn't left my side—even when I'm stressed or feeling down. She's also a great model and a curious explorer, so that's a bonus right? Happy anniversary, Claire. Here's to another year ahead. // Pam's Grotto, Arkansas
