↠ This was on our first day on the island of Lesvos, in the city of Panagiouda. We had just met Assan, a Syrian refugee fleeing from Aleppo, who used to be a doctor back home. Maybe he was a physical therapist. Or a herbalist. We are not entirely sure because we were heavily relying on Google Translate to help us communicate. We're not entirely sure what Shebeck means either, but we definitely loved that word. After meeting Assan, we watched the sun set on the Aegean Sea. What a fantastic day.

↠ Greece was UNREAL.
I came back from a mission trip to Greece last week, and it hurt. It hurt to go across the world so tired after a long week of midterms. It hurt to be in a place full of so much desperation and hopelessness. It hurt to get to know devastated and distressed people and hurt alongside them. It definitely hurt to come back to the US after such an incredible experience.
Amidst the pain and heartache, I made some fantastic friendships with the people in the refugee camp of Moria. Our team of 7 bonded to extents I would have only dreamed of. Best of all, I saw our Lord, a refugee, comfort and love on those we were serving. I saw Jesus reflected in the people around me. I saw His sacrificial love on full display. I heard some of the most gut-wrenching stories you could ever hear, and yet I saw God at work in these people's lives.
Sadly, I could not take any pictures in the refugee camp because of the Greek Military law.
If you would like to hear more about my trip, feel free to contact me!
Thank you to everyone who supported me on this trip. I will be sending out emails to you very shortly!
Peace. [more pictures on my website]

↠Dearest friends and loved ones,
In a few weeks time, I will be on my way to Lesvos, Greece to spend my Spring Break abroad, working with refugees from war-torn countries like Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and more. These refugees, having seen the horrors of war, are dehumanized through the lengthy process of receiving the status of refugee and being relocated to different countries.
There is a massive opportunity for evangelism and for the Lord to shine, but we need your help. I need to raise $2,500 in order to go, and every bit helps. I ask for your consideration to give to this project. If you can not help financially, please pray for safety and pray for Christ’s love to shine. We seek to reach the unreached in reachable places.

If you want to help financially, go to http://www.gemission.org/donate and type “Lesvos” under the “Find your GEM Project” tab. Click “Donate” under “2017 March Euroteam Wheaton Lesvos” and start filling the Donation page out. Add “Dylan Sosso” under the comments tab, and you’re all set!
Thank you for your time and help.

Galatians 6:2
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

↠ IMPORTANT: Currently reminiscing on the wonderful land of Tanzania, and its beautiful people. This photo was taken 3 years ago, and the moment is still crystal clear. This was our last day, and as we were handing out different toys to children, doing some face-painting, and singing songs, a small mass of Tanzanian children gathered around Rachel to blow some bubbles with her. The moment was quite magical from my point of view, and I got to freeze it in time.
This was the first missions trip I had ever been on. I am going on a second trip, very very soon, to Greece, and will be working with one of the most oppressed groups of people in today's world. Please pray for the leaders of this trip, and the preparations that are being made. Check-in tomorrow for some exciting news!
It is only through Jesus, and for Jesus.

↠ In the last few months, I've begun to be very interested in things that I never really was interested in before. As the 45th President of the USA is sworn into office today, I can't seem to shake this one quote out of my mind: "Unbiased journalism is not pretending that both sides are equally valid. Unbiased journalism is reporting the facts, even if those facts include that one side is irredeemably awful. False neutrality is propaganda."
I pray for our President. I pray for this Nation. I pray for the media and the journalists to do their job, amidst of being categorized as "Fake News." Let us not forget that he openly confessed to rape, or that he mocked a person's disability, or the constant racism and xenophobia perpetrated by his words. Let us fight for what is just, and fight harder against what is unjust.

↠ Over the last few months, a recurring thought of mine has been the importance of last words incorporated into holding grudges. I have come to a radical conclusion: I do not have the time, nor the heart, for grudges. Having experienced the death of a loved one for the first time this year, I have realized that as Christ followers, we are called to show, practice, and spread love. We all have our differences, and incompatibilities, yet I am certain we can move past those and truly love one another. After all, life is too fleeting; you could be here a moment, and gone the next. Let's strive to make amends with one another. Let's love.

↠ "Be here in this moment with me." is what one of my favorite modern poets, Tony Ciampa ( @emolabs ), explains in Lesson 6 of his book "Everything We Ever Felt Without Falling In Love." He explains that "People don't last forever, man. We're all temporary. [...] Too many people are struggling through long distance relationships and the loss of loved ones for you to take granted the time you get to spend with the people you still have."
I think this is something worth thinking about, for we too often live without intention, and without wanting to make the our loved one's days a little better. Let's live intentionally. Let's strive for love and thoughtfulness.

↠ Prague's various landmarks and monuments play hide and seek amongst the city's tourists, as well as its very Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. One cool fact about Prague is that most of those architectural gems remain intact because the city was not rebuilt during the 18th and 19th century, unlike most European capital cities.
