~ “2019 will be an intense year for the Historical and Ethnological Museum in St.Gallen. Seven new special exhibitions are on show, more than ever before, highlighting on Asian, sociocultural and spiritual issues. Every visitor coming to the Historical and Ethnological Museum immediately is greeted by the Biedermeier family made of wax, sitting in the lobby of the museum. The wax figures look deceptively real. Likewise the Vadian, which the museum created from wax for the year of the Reformation. This year, these characters are joined by a contemporary one: Indonesian fashion blogger Diana Rikasari who will be welcoming visitors to the Asian showroom starting February 16th, 2019 - taking a selfie with her mobile phone, as an influencer does.
The brightly dressed Asian Instagram star is believed to bring a fresh look after 25 years of the Asian collection in the museum. Ghosts and gods from India, the shadow theater from Indonesia or the Mah-Jong game from China are still on display.” - @tagblatt_ch
