Hello, I’m Dessa—better known as the human body that held The Cape aloft during its headlining set at Orchestra Hall this weekend.
The Cape isn’t fielding press requests at the moment, but I’m authorized to answer a few questions on its behalf.
First, the cape was designed and sewn by @joynoelle.atelier, who works out of her own workshop in South Minneapolis.
It fastens around the neck with a Skeleton Key latch (which you can swipe to see) and the hood is lined with black satin.
The length of the train depends on how tall you are, but for this human wearing her own boots, it trailed for an elegant two feet or so.
The Cape is definitely *not* retiring after its run with the @mn_orchestra. For now, it’s my casual weekday cape, but I expect it will return to stage lights with new material in the not-too-distant future.
