The women are part of “Ccori Ampara,” a women’s collective in Peru that Denver Zoo helped established, which empowers women and enhances livelihood – all part of Denver Zoo’s efforts to protect the Lake Titicaca frog in Peru

Local Denver residents participate in wildlife conservation through Denver Zoo and Rocky Mountain Wild’s Front Range Pika Project. Pika live in high altitude climates -right here in Colorado. Together with Denver residents, Denver Zoo and partners study the effect of climate change on these charismatic species.

More than 12 bison calves were born at Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Bison are important ecosystem engineers, helping to maintain a healthy, functioning grassland. Denver Zoo, in partnership with US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Pueblo of Pojoaque, manage a conservation herd of bison, as part Denver Zoo’s efforts to restore grassland habitats.
