Denver Zoo  Come visit the Zoo! Summer Hours (March 1 – October 31) Admissions open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Grounds close at 6 p.m.


Prairie dogs are an important part of the grassland ecosystem. These highly social creatures live in colonies, and help keep our grasslands healthy. Denver Zoo participates in a long-term study to understand the role prairie dogs have on the ecosystem.

Happy first snow, Denver! DZ staff spotted one of our sea lions trying to catch some snowflakes. Who else enjoyed today's chilly weather? ❄️

Similar to bighorn sheep in the United States, argali sheep are found in Mongolia. Denver Zoo has been conducting wildlife research on this large sheep since 1996 – contributing to the longest ongoing study of this threatened species.

Denver Zoo and partners hosted a STEM Showdown event, with more than 96 high school students and seven local schools in northern and central New Mexico at Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge. Students had the opportunity learn about careers in science—helping to build the capacity for the next generation of conservationists.

Sitting in a traditional ger, local Mongolians participate in a wildlife education activity. Engaging the community is just one approach Denver Zoo takes in conducting wildlife conservation in Mongolia.

High in the heart of the Andes, lives the rare Lake Titicaca frog. The frog is endangered and together, Denver Zoo and partners work to protect this unique species in Peru.

Found only in Vietnam, the unique and colorful Tonkin-snub nosed monkeys are spotted in the forest. Denver Zoo conducts wildlife conservation in Vietnam to protect these critically endangered species.
